I'm going to wait until Ford comes out with the 2.7L tune later this year. Then when they go to charge me for its installation, we can begin doing the math for 2 recalls and the time I gotta spend for their mistakes.
And the gas money you spend driving there. I wish you well. I once told a dealer that I wanted $30 a month for the free advertising they were getting for my driving around with their dealership name decaled on the back of my truck, their plastic license plate frame, and their license plate on the front bracket. We had a nice laugh. They took it all off.

Do you really think they will cut a deal on the Pro-Cal just because you have warranty/recall work to be done? And if they say no, will you then not get the recall done?
I think you will be sadly disappointed.
I think he only wants one trip to the dealer not 3.

To be clear, I'll be asking them to comp the installation and of course I'll be paying for the tune. Heck, they will already be there re-programming for the brake booster. But disappointment is when you read Shelby is coming out with a 2007 Shelby GT.....you go to the dealership who says they know nothing about it, and put down $10,000. Then 2 weeks later the dealership calls up and tells you to come get your money as they will be doing a lottery. Now that's disappointment.

Do they really need to drop the headliner completely down?

I don’t think I have ever heard a dealer giving any break on any feature or service just cause you are irritated at the amount of recalls on the vehicle. (For a lack of better terms) Why are you shooting the messenger? Your dealer didn’t manufacture the truck with faulty airbag design, and trying to punish them for it will just get both of you no where. If you think this will punish Ford in any way, you will be sorely disappointed.
I do share in your irritation though about the recalls, not a fun time.

Doesn't hurt to ask (forcefully).
Did the Shelby story happen to you?
Kinda like wanting the first run of Ranger Raptors, then fine that dealers added a $10,000 ADM.

I just stopped at my dealership to schedule the install and they advised me they don’t have the parts yet. I’ll be waiting for a while before having it done.

Yeah I see the same thing. To be honest, I'm not going to get mine fixed for a bit. Let the masses get there's fixed and maybe down the road I'll get it repaired. You know shit is going to be messed up when you get your truck back. Scratches that where not there before, etc etc
I mean... it is the passenger side. I dont carry passengers in my truck enough to worry bout it. Rather keep the plastics fastened tightly and not rattlin!

The recall is for both sides, driver and passenger.

Ford Service Advisor here: just had the recall done today (so that I could take delivery of my '25 Raptor). The recall only took my tech like 15 minutes, and he'd never dropped a Ranger Raptor headliner before. The shielding that is installed are two thin, rectangular strips of rubber that get added to the metal behind the air bag, to prevent the bags from catching on that metal and tearing. It was incredibly simple, and he put everything back together well. But, I also work for a dealer and know all of these techs personally. Your mileage will vary.

I saw that parts were available on the Ford website
Called my dealer and got scheduled for next Friday. We will see how they do. I'm going to wait.

Yup, the Shelby story did happen to me back in 2007. However, I doubled down and put the same deposit at another Ford dealership.....just in case. Once the 2007 Shelby GT was released, that dealership waived the upcharge and allowed me to take delivery in Las Vegas as part of Shelby's Museum Delivery Program that they were just rolling out.....I was the first. A month later, the VP at Shelby asked me to write an assessment of the program, which I did. Six months later they offered me the position of Director of Sales and I moved to Las Vegas and went to work for Carroll until 2010 when colon cancer retired me to where I am today.

What an amazing story! Hope your cancer has been dealt with. My local dealer in Newton, Kansas, had a Shelby @ four years ago. White with the blue racing stripes. My wife sat in it and fell in love. She went practical, however, and bought a new Escape Hybrid. I should have bought it. It was gone by the end of the week.

Curious...???
Service Mgr stated the airbag repair bulletin 'instructions' do specify headliner removal along with a 2 hr time allocation. 🙄

My airbag recall repair scheduled Monday, that coupled with another in-process warranty repair posted - - peeling paint.

...let's see how it all goes 😒
