Yeah I see the same thing. To be honest, I'm not going to get mine fixed for a bit. Let the masses get there's fixed and maybe down the road I'll get it repaired. You know shit is going to be messed up when you get your truck back. Scratches that where not there before, etc etc
My thoughts exactly, with the light colored trim and headliner, here comes the greasy paw prints...

Dude I was thinking about that yesterday after watching flaberdoopin videos on YT and him pulling his headliner to add dampening. I was thinking my shit is light colored and you know those techs dont change them gloves often.

If/ when I take it in, ill make make sure I talk to service manager to make sure they are careful.
Change their gloves, etc..

When I bought my Ranger, I had Katzkins put in and they scratched the cubby spot in the rear console..its going to be replaced but I'm worried they will mess something else up, like scratch up my nice leather.. I wonder if that plastic piece would be an easy install for me

Super easy to remove the back of the console. It's held in place by spring clips.

Had mine done today. Let's not forget about the bonus greasy finger marks all over the headliner. Advisor handed me my keys and reminded me about the survey from ford. I walked out to my truck and as soon as I open the doors I see grease spots all over the headliner and b piller. I went and got the advisor and showed him. He said just a minute someone will come clean it. They sent out a guy covered in grease and he asked for my keys so he could drive it out back to clean it. I was like dude you are covered in grease. So he went and got some gloves. They did get it clean but still I should never have seen my brand new truck with 2500kms on it like that. Might be my last visit there but I usually like to get my stuff serviced where I bought it.
Sorry to hear this. :(

Exact same thing happened on a oil change appointment on my fusion many years back. Dirty paw prints everywhere! Service manager offered to clean it..I was like nah..I just pulled to the side and got my cleaning supplies and did it myself. Never went to San Leandro Ford dealer again.

Ill be doing my oil changes on my truck, tire rotations at big O and all the other stuff I'll try to do myself besides bigger stuff. Just dont have the space living in a city to do bigger stuff.

Sigh..

thank you. they did manage to clean it up pretty well at least. i really wonder that if they say your truck is ready and in a dirty state i wonder what happens when you can't see what it going on.

i live in a city too and never did any of my own work. my brother does his own oil changes and other routine stuff but is in a more rural area. i think i need to learn how to an oil change and buy the stuff i need so i can do my own oil changes at least.

I dropped my RR off today at 10:00 am to have the recall, oil change and 10,000 mile maintenance done. I’m in Temecula, CA. They said they might have to keep it overnight depending on how it goes. I’ll keep everyone posted on the results. 🤞

hey there, 24 Lariat and called the dealer I have bought a few vehicles from, they have recently been bought by a large conglomerate so things have changed. I called to make an appointment they said bring it in we will inspect it, then order the parts and make another appointment to have parts installed? I asked why they need to inspect it, "that's our process" then basically said if you don't want to make an appointment you can go elsewhere. Will be calling the number on the recall and asking why the inspection.

Think I'll follow the consensus of the group. Stopped by the dealer yesterday and asked what the recall work entailed. Was told the cover of the A pillar and the head liner will be removed to install new air bags. They told me it would take ~4 hours to complete.
I asked if they have done any yet. No, but they have parts on order for the 3 on the lot that needs the recall work done.
Think I wait to see how these look after the recall work is done.

May not do mine at all, thought of dealer staff touching the inside of my truck is cringe, may let the next owner deal with it

Just got my truck back from the airbag recall. The dealer said everything went great and they didn’t have any issues. I checked out the fit and finish in fine detail before I signed off on it. No scratches or loose panels. It looks good to me. No complaints here. Hope I never have to test’em

It's not a bag replacement, they are install a rubber buffer between the bag and frame to prevent abrasion on inflation. If they told you they are replacing the airbag they are 100% wrong and are not to be trusted with the recall repair.

I just had mine done. Dropped the vehicle off Tuesday, they would not give me a loaner, didn't get it back until Friday 6pm.
I have own Ram truck and they always give me a loaner. Why did it take 4 days? I ask the dealership they said they were busy and didn't get to it . This is what happens when they don't give you a loaner. They don't give a crap about you.
