So offset confuses me. Ranger is +55. Found lots of +35 or others but only a steel at +55. Was looking at a set of Black Rhino but it is +35. But I have no idea what effect changing rims to that offset actually does to handling. Or mounting Continental Terraincontact AT on those. Any help?

+offset pulls the tires inward. For like 1" pushed out from the truck a +25 is perfect. That moves it +30 out from stock and would be like adding a 1" spacer.

That always confused me. A positive offset brings the tire inward as you said, while I thought it was the opposite. I found this image that shows the effect of offsets.

Ford Ranger Zero offset does fit but..... 1761493442764-u

right now i have the stock beadlocks and am planning to get some Icon Vector 6 wheels. with my stock beadlocks i have a 1" spacer. When i get my Icons i will be doing a +25 offset so it will push the tire out just as if i had my spacers. This would allow me to get rid of the spacers and have the same stance

I'm curious; other than aesthetics, why spacers?

So if I got it, mounting a +35 rim instead of an OEM +55 with the same sized OEM tires actually moves the tires 20mm outward 0.79 inch, slightly widening stance. So other than looks, what does this do for handling? And where exactly is zero? Is that the edge of the wheel well?

Wider stance makes the truck more “stable.” But then you introduce bump steer, because they OE geometry of the suspension is changed. You’ll notice the truck will handle ever so slightly worse going from a +55 to a +35, and considerably worse at a +0. Scrub radius is also increased which again makes the truck handle worse.

I am running a +30, still a ford OEM rim found on the Bronco Sasquatch trucks, mostly for improved stance. I am running a stock size tire but chose a tire that by spec is about an inch wider tread width then the oe BFGs.
