The point is Unions are chasing manufacturing out of the USA. Maybe you can enlighten us how moving production to Mexico helps the USA worker? More time to spend rioting and protesting in the streets?
The union are not chasing out manufacturers to overseas. Manufacturers don't give a crap about anything but the lowest cost parts. So they'll seek out the lowest labor cost wherever in the world that happens to be. Employees are expected to be loyal to their country and employers but yet have no loyalty to you or country.

I'd rather have the parts built in factories that make consistent, high quality parts, regardless of where that factory is located.

If they're unionized or have good labor conditions, even better.
Good for you. Don't have to worry much at all cause you won't have any money to afford those parts without factories in the US!

I have traveled to all parts of the Americas while in the USMC, trust me it is insulting to say you are American. Rather we would state we are Norteamericano or from Estados Unidos. Just being informative, nothing else.
Nobody cares bro. This is the Ranger forum not the PC police forum.

In 2020 it was reported the "Ford Ranger Is the Most American Car in the County" Not anymore its not! I looked at a new 2024 on my dealers lot this weekend. The USA and Canadian Parts Content sticker said USA parts content is 0.08%. So basically in a few years the USA parts content goes from 70% to ZERO -- NONE of the parts and made in the USA. Way to go UAW, you call that a win? Give it a few more years, they will move the factory where the parts are made.
How do you hold the UAW responsible… that’s the greedy management doing that.

For 2025 models US/Canadian parts content has jumped up to 46%

This is from a 2.3 XLT:

Here’s some answers straight from the source, e.g. definition of “carline”. https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-49/subtitle-B/chapter-V/part-583

Interestingly it notes that you only have to list the top two foreign countries of origin if they represent at least 15% of content by value. So the MY24 has 92% from so many different countries none was greater than 15%??

Here’s the reports straight from NHTSA for each car model and across years: https://www.nhtsa.gov/part-583-american-automobile-labeling-act-reports

Interesting reports, I’ve never really looked at them. I know cars are sort of an international manufacturing effort these days, but surprised a little how low the percentage of N.A. parts is for Ford and GM. Stellantis (Fiat Chrysler) cars have actually a higher percentage, which I also wouldn’t have guessed. Another surprise is Honda, which have a higher percentage of N.A. parts that any of the Big Three auto makers. A little off topic, sorry.

The 2025 Ranger at 46% sounds low, but it’s about average if not above average for most manufacturers. Not sure WTF happened in 2024 tho.

that 2024 content just seems wrong

were some imported?

interesting the 2025 engine says made in Mexico. Mine on the engine says Ohio.

Toyota has some models 100% made in Japan Impressive.

Which engine does your truck have? This is a 2.3

Toyota/Lexus do have Japanese made vehicles of globally sourced parts. I'm pretty sure final assembly for the Tacoma is in Mexico now. Could be wrong because it's been a while since I looked.

I have the 2.3

And I was looking at this

https://www.nhtsa.gov/sites/nhtsa.gov/files/2025-04/MY2025-AALA-Alphabetical 4_7_2025.pdf

Toyota has vehicles 100% content made in Japan

And yes the Tacoma is assembled in Mexico.

I think a lot of people care because of the tariffs. My 2025 Lariat went up about $3k between March when I took delivery and now.
Completely unnecessary if Ford had kept it US-based. In 2020 it was reported the Ford Ranger Is the Most American Car in the County. Also, if you don't like the price don't buy!

Not sure why people say the 2025 2.3L MPC is made in Mexico. As the sticker say's it made in the Ohio Cleveland engine plant. Maybe clarify for me.

If you watch those Facebook mechanic pages the quality of new parts are poor. Its like some of them are not even inspected before leaving Mfg plant. I sure hope my 2025 is a reliable truck.
Engineers and Bean Counters have designed and Mfg parts with a focus on cost cutting verse quality. CEO's got to be paid.
