Can anyone that has used these for the last year or so comment on how they've done with regard to protecting the body from rock chips?

I have had them on my Ranger Raptor for a little over a year and not a scratch or ding. Lots of banging on the underside of the sliders but nothing has made it up to the body. I also have them on my Bronco (Wildtrack, Sasquatch) and the same result. Nothing has made it to the body.

Any idea how much they weigh? I'd expect the side steps (cast aluminum) to be in the 30lb range and these in the 70lb range (per slider). I'm just curious how much additional weight they add over the side steps (aka GOAT sliders weight - factory side steps weight = total gain over stock).

The bare slides (not including bolts and packaging) for the Bronco 4-door are 45lbs (found a direct post from GOAT sponsor on the Bronco forum). So, I would wager with mounting hardware for a RR they are in the 50~55lbs range. Shipping weight is always 20%~30% heavier for larger items due to packaging and I'm guessing the shipping weight is 80lbs per slider with the heavy cardboard etc.

Regarding the alleged flex issue, take a look at this thread:

GOAT Fabrication Rock Sliders installed on Ranger Raptor | Page 4 | Ranger6G - 2024+ Ranger & Raptor Forum, News, Owners, Community (6th Gen)

That link has some important information, people were complaining about the flex in the video I posted from GOAT, well I came to find out that the video was of the sliders during development and at that time they had 3/16" brackets that weren't fully gusseted, so before release they increased the mounting brackets to 1/4" brackets and fully gusseted, there's almost no flex in the production versions / final test versions unlike the bare steel prototypes in the video.

So, all the claims of them "flexing so much they will hit the rockers" are founded on ignorance, as is usual on the internet. If I had a dollar for every time somebody saw a YouTube video, took something way out context and then made a bunch of false statements.....I'd be RICH!!!

So, this should at least settle the "flex issue", now we can all get back to arguing about frame mount vs. cab mount like good little internet sleuths. You're welcome .

GOAT 20-degree angled sliders with top plates are my next mod once funds permit for some added 4x4 capability without messing with the factory suspension, increasing CG or rotating mass.

can anyone that has them installed measure how far they poke from body? I'm looking for not only sliders but something that pokes enough to allow protection when having to slide 'around' things (trunks, rocks, etc) and protect the doors. Essentially, poke enough just past the door panels for side protection.
