Ranger LOBO Coming? New Trademark Filed

Ford filed a new trademark yesterday 1/21/26 for the LOBO name/mark for use on motor vehicles. This is separate from the 2023 trademarks for "F-150 Lobo" and "Maverick Lobo" ....this seems to be the next most likely truck to get the LOBO name

Interesting that the other trademarks were specifically for

f150 lobo
maverick lobo

while this is generic just lobo

there is a new electric truck coming and some type of new truck in 2029

I guess if the sedan is dead to ford then street focused trucks make sense.

I wish they would make 1 sedan. I think a new fusion would be great. Plugin and full electric. I loved my 2016 fusion

LOBO name has always been used for many years by Ford trucks built in Mexico.

Love to see a Lobo Ranger with the 3.0 & 4x4. 1k lbs lighter than the RR's. Be a great alternative to the F150 coyote craze. 700ponies at 4500lbs, should move pretty good.

Yeah me too. I'd probably sell my XLT if they did that. I drove a 150 with the coyote engine and boy was I in love. My dealer send them off to get exhaust, 22inch rims, lower, katkins leather, etc

Not that more special editions is bad in a vacuum, but it is strange that Ford is pursuing all these while trying to strangle the ranger with their other hand because it either competes too much with their other products or some other reason.

The Maverick Lobo gets a slightly different transmission and the differential from the Maverick Tremor, tuned for sport driving. IIRC, it’s also like a half-inch lower than stock. These are somewhat modest changes, but they’re not purely cosmetic, either.

I don’t think Ford will do a Ranger Lobo. If they did, I’d like to see 4-Auto, the 3.0L from the Raptor, and some of the trick diff stuff. Plus a 1” drop in ride height. That would be pretty dope TBH.

Had planned on keeping the Raptor for a good while, but if they do the Ranger version right, count me in.
