Bent tie rod.. ISO Stock Right Tie Rod Inner + Outer RR

Recently while off-roading I bent my stock right tie rod. The parts from Ford are backordered with no ETA at the moment.

I was going to upgrade both sides but after further thought, an stronger tie rod will just put more stress on the steering rack which is much more expensive to replace and I'd rather bend another tie rod than a steering rack..

I'm looking to see if anyone has a stock right tie rod inner and outer laying around that they would be willing to part with.

Just going fast offroad in the desert and sometimes you hit something while turning or a rut. Shit happens and normally it can take it very well, this time maybe too aggressive

It's been a month or two since digging into part number for these inner tie rods. There seems to be a lineage for the 12mm inner rods going back to the mid-90's for Ford and Mazda vehicles. Lots of superseded part numbers.

This may actually work for a trail repair, or a temp repair. For $15, I ordered one to see. Once here, I'll take it to the local Ford dealer and see if they have something to compare it with.

i wonder if a part from a gen5 ranger would drop in and work. i see regular posts on facebutt marketplace for people selling the stock stuff when they upgrade

Are you running stock tires or did you upgrade to 35's?

I saw some discussion on upgraded tie rods in this video a while back.
They show them and discus the tie-rods around the 12:30 mark in the video.

Bleck. It's a shame how puny these things are. Mine snapped - passenger side as well.

Parts availability was an issue for me, too. Some huffing and puffing got one brought in. As the dealer explained to me, the "hub" that stores these is out of Nashville. Apparently all are allocated to new builds, but he said there definitely are some on a shelf. Takes some higher ups to get it released for non-new-build trucks

Im using Rough cuntry tie rods from Broncos, they have super long adjustable threads that allow for the wider width of the Rnager RAPTOR. Super beefy and GUARANTEED

And ordering the ford performance 3.0 rack this month as well!

I do have the stock OEM toothpicks available, they only have a few hundred miles on em.Because as soon as I bought the truck, they were the first thing to come off. Contact me in a pm and I'll send you one.

Just curious, did you do anything to the rack? That’s been my apprehension on beefing up the tie rods.

Not yet, the Bronco ford performance rack 3.0 is on the purchase list this month ...I created the rack hack so the programming is available for free. ( well almost, you need forscan $12, and a mongoose adapter $250-600 and a 2 day fdrs subscription $125)

Update:
I found one inner tie rod in stock from Galpin Ford thanks to a guy on facebook who pointed me in the right direction.

I also installed the Foutz Tie Rod Sleeve https://www.foutzmotorsports.com/co...rod-nut-and-support-tube-for-14mm-silver-zinc

This will add some strength but not a full upgrade. I think it is a great piece of kit.

My Foutz tie rod sleeves arrived a couple of days ago. Also, that $15 inner tie rod mentioned above is here. The sleeve fits that tie rod. Now, I just need to determine if the inner thread matches and the length is good.

Before I head to UT in May, I'll install the sleeves.
