On a completely stock 4x4 with 18x7.5 +55 wheels, most people find 275/70R18 (about 33") is the practical max with minimal or no rubbing, depending on alignment and tire brand. 285s will usually rub at full lock or over bumps without trimming or leveling. Stock P255/65R18 is ~31", so 275/70R18 is a nice upgrade while staying close to stock drivability.

Do you know of anyone running 265/70/18 on the stock rims and stock suspension (no lift, level) and no wheel spacers? With no rubbing or other clearance issues? TIA

Put some stock Ranger Raptor wheels on one of the Lariat's tonight.
17x8.5 +55 wheels with BFG KO3s 285/70R17s .

Super tight with the UCAs. But they do clear.
Well they clear once we popped the rim lip balance wrights off. lol

Looks great on the truck IMO. They seem to be going to work. We, may need to have the fronts re-balanced with static weights. Lol

Here is wheel weights that were rubbing slightly on the control arms.
We heard the weights hitting just backing out of the garage. No high speed stuff.
Popped these off and rub resolved.

Now there is a slight fender liner rub at full lock when backing up. No liner rub at full lock going forward. Overall fit much better then I expected. I didn’t think they would fit at all on a totally stock truck. A thin spacer might be a good to to put on there, but it will cause the fender liner rub to increase a bit.

This is the kind of testing we need!

Does that mean that 285/70/17 on a stock 17x7.5 +55 wheel would have more UCA clearance than the 17x8.5 Raptor wheel?

It will squeeze the tire a bit more with the max width being the bulge of the tire, i would say yes better wheel clearance. Meaning I would not have had to take the wheel lip balance weights off.
The rim would be 1/2” further out from the arm compared to a 17x8.5 .

That actually looks REALLY good! Throw a bit of a lift and a 1" spacer on there and you'll be golden.

Maxxis Razr AT811 285/70R17 on Raptor wheels, and these seem to be a bit wider than the the BF's, as they rubbed on the UCA. I could rotate the tire by hand, but constant touching on the tire.

Put on 6mm spacers and that did the trick.

We did the Raptor wheel and BFG on a Lariat and it is super tight.
Had to pull the inner wheel weights off to clear the UCA, the BFG tire is narrow for a 285 so we cleared the tires fine but the Raptor wheel is 1/2 inch wider than the stock non-raptor wheels and with both wheels being a +55 offset that is what pushed the wheel weights into contact with the UCA. Other than having to pull the wheel weights off, we have not had any other issues with this setup.

Sorry if not mentioned before. Stock tires are 255-65 R18 Same diameter as 275-60 R18 just a little wider. That should max out the 7.5” wide rims.

Best I can tell from the research I have done so far is that a 275 is going to be max width and clear the UCAs without spacers on stock +55 offset wheels.

I am thinking this might be largest tire I can go and have 0 rub issues on a 100% stock truck on a stock wheel.

This is the tire I am thinking about putting on these trucks.

The P275/65R18 is a 32x11 tire
That’s an 1 inch taller and an 1 inch wider then the OEM tire size.

Is anyone running a 275/65R18 on their truck with stock wheels and no lift or wheel spacers?
Would love to see pics of that combo.

Thoughts or other ideas or combos that are larger then stock that work on a stock truck?
Somone else did the same upgrade and still swears there's no rubbing. 275 /65/

Hi,

Curious if you have any level/lift installed in these photos?

I think this looks awesome and these are the exact tires I want with the same stock wheels. I am also maybe eyeing a 1inch spacer to pop out a little more as I do have some fender flares
