On a completely stock 4x4 with 18x7.5 +55 wheels, most people find 275/70R18 (about 33") is the practical max with minimal or no rubbing, depending on alignment and tire brand. 285s will usually rub at full lock or over bumps without trimming or leveling. Stock P255/65R18 is ~31", so 275/70R18 is a nice upgrade while staying close to stock drivability.
