I was going to say, I thought that was something that worked on some older model stuff several years ago, not heard of that working on anything current. I want to say I even tried it on my 24 model a couple years ago and didn't work.

I spent the $100 on the ASS eliminator and never looked back.
that really sounds like an infomercial..... eliminate your ASS only $100 😊

I bought an ass eliminator, for my truck that is.....

reading some more it looks like everything having to deal with regulating green house emissions has been stricken

that is quite a pivot

If it’s not broke don’t fix it. The auto industry probably won’t change it.

I believe the bigger change here is the feds removed the EPA’s powerful scientific study from 2009 Greenhouse Gas Act. This study was headed up by the EPA and alternative energy groups. Industry had no say in what could be done for a reasonable cost. The 2009 study Basically says alternative energy groups get to decide how industry is regulated from an environmental standpoint. The study says the EPA peer groups get a huge say in how and which new regulations are implemented on US industries. They then get to say that if a ASS switch is installed on new vehicle it will be healthier for Americans. Then it was adopted and required of manufacturers by the EPA. The peer groups cost to benefit analysis is can it be implemented without regard to cost. There are more of these sort of things that we’re going to be implemented on auto makers for 2027 & up for light & medium duty vehicles. There is a recent 370 page report that details how decisions were made and what regulations were to be implemented on manufacturers. The estimated cost to implement these regulations on vehicles is estimated at $2,300 per vehicle.

While I am no expert and barely know anything about this. But to have regulation that allows environment watch dog groups to decide which regulations are healthier without regard to cost is wrong. This is where some of the stupidest ideas are born. This change will help big time.

Anyone with half a brain gets your point. But, that doesn't matter and getting worked up over it does more harm to you than anything.
The EPA, like most government, is just a money grab.
Not worked up so much as making fun of the idiocy of buerocracy and how often it actually makes problems worse instead of solving them.

I just push the R button on startup since I always save a custome configuration with no ASS settings.

Ford’s official statement: "We appreciate the work of President Trump and Administrator Zeldin to address the imbalance between current emissions standards and customer choice. Ford has consistently advocated for a single, stable national standard that aligns with customer choice, the market, societal benefit, and American job growth."

The problem is that this is likely to do the opposite, at least in the near term. States are going to craft their own regulations ala California and it's going to be a nightmare for manufacturers, I imagine.

California will always be California until the people rebel. Talk about taking a positive and turning it into a negative..
if you had visited Los Angeles in the 60s or 70s you would appreciate how much better the air is now

it will be interesting to see what happens with the epa no longer regulating green house gases.

the Supreme Court ruled 2007 that green house gases were an endangerment and thus should? be regulated under the clean air act

this policy change will get tied up in court as there are already challenges

A quicker win might have been to simply eliminate the ass credit

I know los angeles was rough as a kid in the 80s and 90s because we always had smog days so you couldnt do pe or go outside and play.

But when we went back in 2017, the amount of people and homeless was terrible. I would take the old days versus how it is now.

That seems to be a universal problem these days, unfortunately.
