I have had some weird behavior when pulling my trailer, so hopefully the update will fix it. The most common error I get is the Blind Spot Monitoring disabling.

It'll stop compensating for the length of the trailer. it's annoying because the same system always worked on my '21 Ranger. If I pull over, choose a different trailer in the trailer setting menu, and then choose my actual saved trailer again, it will work for the rest of the drive. The error usually shows up not long after leaving my driveway.

I've seen the other trailer brake fault error not long after I bought my truck, but I cleaned up the socket and re-greased ti with some good dielectric grease a while back and have never seen it since.

Hopefully this fixes my random trailer error, where starting up while still connected to the trailer it says Trailer Disconnected, Trailer Connected, Trailer Disconnected and then forgets the set trailer I was towing so it disables blind spot till I can change the connected trailer. Had to disable trailer anti theft because I was worried it would set off the alarm. Once running I have zero issues and no disconnects, just on restarts when connected.

I am. Guessing this applies to either trailer hitch option on a 25 ranger. It sounds ike. .

Not yet. Only shows recall for Air Bags at the moment.
This will be an OTA fix, not like Toyota or GM having to replace hundreds of thousands of engines.
Well, I hear GM is just saying 'use thicker oil'.

So by "OTA", does that mean it will automatically install the update overnight or something? Does the truck need to be connected to WiFi?

The truck is not with me; it's at a shop right now. I didn't want this thing to install tonight and then something wonky happen while he's working on it.

Should see it now. It was released yesterday, 3/17. I got notification by E-mail today that my recall has been issued.

I kept getting the blind spot error a few weekends ago while pulling a small 8' trailer. I didn't realize it was a result of this.

Since purchasing my 2025 Raptor new in May of 2025, I have never received an OTA update of anything. Not sure if my truck doesn't receive them or if Ford hasn't release any updates for my truck. This inculdes GPS also. If anyone gets the update, please let me know. I do see the recall notification on the App now

Folks, regarding the update for trailer brake module. Like I said, before Ford's annoucment I had my truck in the weekend prior and the tech said there was an available update. Since they appiled that update, I have not received trailer brake module fault errors I think if you're impatient or want a fix maybe reach out to your dealer and see if they can apply the update

It’s not anything of a rush for me. Just more curious what to expect for these OTA updates. Like @RaptorDJD , I don’t know that I’ve ever received one. Not sure if there’s something in the settings to opt in/out or something.

In the Ford App it says:

"When automatic updates are turned on standard from factory, the software will be downloaded to your vehicle over a private wi-fi network or through your vehicles cellular network modem. The software installation will happen after download."

So, auto updates should be on, unless you turned it off, and should download unless you didn't connect to a wi-fi AND disabled your vehicle modem.

My vehicle has been connected to my residence wifi since day 1. I also have automatic updates turned on for everyday at 3 AM. Like I said before, I have never recieved an update that I am aware of. Also I am in no rush as I still haven't completed the air bag recall yet. The only recall I had done ASAP was the electric brake booster in which I took to the dealership for. I guess I will wait and see. Just curious if anyone with a 2025 Raptor has recieved an OTA update. :)

Same. Never received an update that I know of. I was getting ready to post to the forum to see if anyone else has received a software update.

Was getting that fault after u haul but went away after I rinsed all grease out of flat connection at back of truck. Was packed with grease and shorting. Brake parts cleaner fixed it
the grease is non conducive dielectric grease. suppose to be there, to keep moisture out and from it from corroding. but moisture clearly got in there. also brake clean is conductive, and leaves a film when it dries on the pins. you should of used electrical contact cleaner. its non conductive, and leaves no film.
