Running Boards - Your perspective

Here's my question. Even being tall, do you slide across the side of the seat getting in? My son is 6'2" but even he slides across the side of the seat and it pisses me off....lol. i want him to simply sit down into the seat without over and over again crushing the side bolster.

I haven't really paid attention, I'll make note today.

Have you checked the Raptor look-a-likes on Real truck? They have wide options. I get where you're coming from as I have a size 12 wide shoe.

The RealTruck Go Rhino RB20 Running Boards are going to be the widest in that series, measuring 7.5" wide at the widest part of the board. There are different options of width and tread to choose from depending on your style and preference.

You avoid sliding in by having the board at the right height off the ground at entry and grabbing the steering wheel for assist since the Ranger lacks a driver side grab handle. At 71 and 6'4", I do not slide in since I went with AMP Research e-boards, which drop down when the door opens then retract when the door closes. Worth it to me because I no longer contort or slide to get in or out.

I'm very happy my the IronBison rocker steps, great ground clearance and wide enough to get good footing entering and exiting.

I couldn't agree more. I sometimes wish I'd have gone AMP power boards.

Getting in they are minimally helpful. Getting out I consider them somewhat dangerous as you really can't see them and it's difficult to get a foot on them.

They work great for me at 5'8 . I use them getting in and out and they are great for reaching the roof .
If you are over 6 feet tall and /or have sasquatch feet then maybe you should trade up for an F150.

We bought our 25 Lariat 4X4 new in January and had chrome/skid-proof RB's installed at dealer...they didn't fit. So dealer removed them and put stock Ford RB's on the truck. Worked for us., and we're both in our 70's.

My Ranger came with the factory running boards. They feel a bit awkward to use because I'm 6'2" and able to fully step into my truck unassisted. My wife on the other hand is 5'1" and uses them to get every single time. I also think they look nice.
