One or Two Struts for the Tailgate?

Ok, didn’t realize there was a gas strut on the tailgate . Ok me 2.5 months to realize there was an upper glovebox. Went out to look and there it was cable does show through the gap, one more thing for me to fixate on

Yep, ordered exactly the truck I wanted with all the options I wanted . Then started adding more accessories to it . Livin’ the good life

My '25 XL tailgate dropped like a rock. Added the Ford assist. Nice and smooth now.

Yep, the best 20 bucks I spent on my F350 was the tailgate strut. (Amazon)

Speaking of one or two struts, does anyone’s right hand cable poke out when you close the gate?

Yeah, mine is always sticking out. Nkt enough space between the struck and bed rail. I've debated adding a washer to add a bit more gap fkrnthe cable to slide into when the tailfate closes? Anyone try?

Using the zip tie method I saw earlier and so far over ~20 opens and closes and no issues

Just curious if anyone knows of a stronger strut? I have a 2025 and it will let the tailgate bang down if I don't hold on to it... Thanks

I bought the Ford factory strut and the top screw in ball. Gate already had the bottom pivot on it. Works great. Nice and smooth all the way down. Only negative is the cost.
