It has been about 1 month since I have taken home my 2.7 V6 2025 Ford Ranger XLT FX4 w/Blackout Package.

Pros -
1. This truck really moves out on the highway. Has a lot more power beyond 55.
2. Found out it has directional lighting depending on the steering direction.
3. The seats are super comfy! Plenty of elbow room!
4. I like the wheels on the blackout package.
5. Love the 12 inch display
6. Head turner (especially for the Tacoma drivers)
7. Climbs hills like a mountain goat

Cons -
1. Key - has taken me several weeks to get used to a key again. The joy and freedom of a push button lost.
2. 10 Speed at lower speeds. Rolling around the neighborhood can be herky-jerky. Can't seem to unwind at the lower speeds.
3. Still plugging holes in the bed for better water proofing. I may add a tailgate seal and the front of the bed has several built in holes I need to address.
4. I have a bad habit of leaving my cell phone on the charger when I exit the vehicle. First world issues.

So far, the pros outweigh the cons and I have been enjoying it.

Probably next on deck is to exercise the FX4 capabilities.

I have a 2025 XLT with the FX4 and tech package, with the new 2.3L. It just hit 1,000 miles. The new 2.3 engine is very strong. I find the XLT seats very uncomfortable because the side bolsters on the bottom make the seat too narrow. I addressed this by simply folding some towels to raise the center portion a bit. The transmission has been issue free and it shifts smoothly and properly.
Yes, they should make the wireless phone charging pad a lighter color to better be able to see your phone there.
So far, my biggest complaints are that the rear seat headrests have to be removed in order to fold the rear seat down - and that there is no camera view that allows you to see the inside of the bed. Both of these seem like glaring oversights to me…

Agreed on the slower In town shifts, it can be a little klunky. For sure a smooth highway driver. I’ve had mine for 10 days and hit 2k mi 2 days ago.

I noticed you have the side steps behind the rear wheel well? I have a 2.7 XLT FX4 and added the 301 A equip group but no rear steps, did you have those added in a different package?

I have a mental “Parking Checklist”:

1) Transmission in Park
2) Set Parking Brake
3) Engine Off
4) Store Sunglasses
5-MOST IMPORTANT) PICK THE DAMN PHONE UP OFF THE WIRELESS CHARGER!

😂

A few of us on here got our trucks at the same time. I got mine May 23rd so almost a month now like you. I'm at 950 miles.

I want to find a way to disable the directional fog lights when you turn the wheel. I find those a little annoying and want to see if there is a fuse you can pull to disable them?

I struggled a little bit with comfort on the seats but I turned my head rest around and that freed up some neck space for me so my head doesn't feel like it's pushed forward too much.

The tranny for me seems pretty smooth at all speeds. No complaints there. I haven't given it the beans yet as I'm still taking it easy on it but I do love this new 2.3.

Rides super comfortable for a truck. Takes bumps well. Enjoyable drive to and from work. I like that I can change oil with it on the ground. I'm skinny so it works.

To Rich, the OP, You live around the corner from me. I'm in Souderton, PA!

Luke - I ordered my XLT a few weeks ago and I ordered the Integrated Box Steps behind the rear wheels as a free flow option. They were $215.

Can't wait to get my truck, especially after spending time on this site and reading how much fun everyone is having!!

Inhave found if you have the fog lights on, instead of off, the fogs dont do the turn lighting
