I've had my new Ranger for about a week and everything has worked great except for the HomeLink module. It will not sync with our Chamberlain garage door opener. All of our other vehicles and universal remotes work fine. I had the HomeLink system checked at my Ford Dealership and they say it's putting out a signal and working fine. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Mine was a pain in the ass…I finally got it working by “linking it” while using the actual remote and not the learning function on the opener in the garge. I tried at least 4 times using the motor and it never would sync.

Funny, mine was the exact opposite for my Craftsman opener. The link I tried first, and nothing, then the learn worked.

Do have the same problem here. Could not find my original remote, but added an El cheapo from Amazon hoping to program the Ranger HomeLink this way. Did not work though.

Yeah, also complained to the dealer and had it checked.

Is there some magic I am missing ? What protocol does one need to select (the generic one speak 5 or 6 different ones) ?

Was surprisingly simple for me after I tried the learn button several times and failed. Used the remote instead and it worked. I thought that was weird but try it out, you never know.

I couldn’t use the remote to program, as soon as I hit the learn on the opener boom!

Same for me. The only way I could get it to learn was to use the remote. It would not link directly to the opener. Linked with remote first try.
This was also my experience as of just an hour or so ago.

I ordered a new OEM remote for our garage door opener, the universal remote that we have is not working to program the HomeLink remote. I'll update after I get the new remote. If that doesn't work, I guess I'll just use the new remote. Thanks for all the suggestions.

I got mine to work but the range is terrible. I have to be directly in front of the door to get it to work. My other vehicles will work from a block away.

Anyone else have poor range issues?

Honestly it seems some days are better than others.

I have three different Chamberlain openers with three different colored learn buttons. Using the learn button to program my different vehicles Homelink buttons has always been hit and miss. Sometime it works first try other times not at all. One of my openers has a learn button on the wired remote display and that has never worked to program Homelink. I finally stopped trying to use the learn buttons and just use the original remotes for programming now. That has worked 100% of the time for me.

Range on mine is better than the remotes. I have a Genie though. Couldn't get it to program via a remote but worked fine with the base learn function.
