Ok so i got it today. I thought i was imagining it. It’s gotta be an update thing since there is as an update that just happened and mine just started. Honestly sounds like it came from the engine compartment. I was thinking the active air vents maybe slamming open or closed. I’ll have to try and remote start it from the front and see

I'd say take it to dealer and log a complaint. They will probably say 'it's normal", but at least it will be recorded in case of future failure.

I think I’m going to take that Carvana offer. I paid $32.5k for the Ranger; they’re offering $33.6k. I’m not willing to live like this. Something is being damaged or prematurely worn every time this happens. It’s clear from the F150 discussion that Ford simply doesn’t give a shit. This is a great forum. I wish each of you a long and happy life.

You have a 5 year 60,000 mile power train warranty from Ford. Only my opinion, but I think you are overreacting.

There will be a TSB with a software update for this sometime in the near future.

Mine does it occasionally. I now idle for 10 seconds before I shut it off, not sure if that really solves it but has not happened since I started doing that.

If it's been happening since 2018, there should be plenty of proof of "Something is being damaged or prematurely worn every time this happens"
It's your choice, but no guarantee that whatever model you buy won't have its own issues. Just look up Toyota and GM recalls. Hundreds of thousands recalled for engine replacements. Well, with GM, their fix seems to be "use heavier oil", that will get you thru the OEM warranty.
