Ordered one this month and it is already 2026 MY but no specs avaiable
So if I were to walk into a dealership tomorrow and place an order, it would most likely turn into a 2026 model?

While looking at window stickers of used Rangers I was searching on Autotrader I noticed a 2024 model year truck that was built 10-2-2024. I thought it was interesting that in October they were still building out the model year, even though at that point the 2025 order guide had been out for two months.

I'm strongly considering placing an order soon, but I would sure love to know what the 2026 color choices will be.

The dealer show me in the computer that they have option of selecting 2025.25 MY and 2026 MY and if selected 2025.25 MY since they had no stock nationwide, it changed automatically to MY 2026.

I don’t believe that they started rolling 2025 models until February of 2025. If you order a 2026 now, you might be in for a long wait.

My personal feeling is to get one in the wild and get it before all of the ones with the convenience package as standard disappear. The price is only going to get higher.

Also, there are deals to be had on the 2024s still hanging around dealerships.

They had me a possible 6 month waiting

Yeah the problem is I need a very specific list of options, and it is virtually impossible to find a dealer who has what I want sitting on a lot.

There's a guy on the Ford Truck Enthusiasts forum who ordered a new Ranger in fall of 2024 and just took delivery at the beginning of this summer. I think his total wait time was around 8 months. I told him that's crazy....an entire model year nearly came and went while he was waiting, which ultimately cost him resale value before he even got the truck.

Check the 2025 order update thread if you want to see real wait times.

Personally, I ordered a 2025 Lariat in March, it’s been completed since 6/26/25, and still shows as “in production”, but is listed on the dealer portal as “on hold”. I bought a RR and will be declining the Lariat when it eventually ships. I’ll never order again though (lesson learned).

I found a new '25 XLT 301A package built 5-23-25 that doesn't have the wireless charging pad, and the same dealer has a '25 XLT 301A package built 6-25-25 that does have the wireless charging pad. So there are some oddities to sift through if you're going to try and grab a '25 while the standard content was still available.

I think that ship has sailed

count me in as a member of the 6' bed or die group

I remember my 1985 Toyota hilux with a 7' bed.

toyota has a 6' bed but the xtra cab is not available in the upper trim levels

and good luck finding a pre runner in California

or a limited trim without the hybrid engine

and a crew cab with a 6' bed is just too long

so after some sole searching I decided I could get everything I needed into a 5' bed

and I've already used my back seat for people more than I thought and with the fold down rear seat and rear doors, the storage is a lot more convenient

still miss my 6' bed ;)

yes, that might be the inevitable trend
I’ve owned nothing but 2 Ford trucks since Nov. of 1993. My first was a ‘94 Ranger SuperCab (bought new) and replaced it in Jan. of 2002 (bought new) with my current truck, a F-150 Lariat SuperCrew. Even after 23+ years of driving the F-150 I still miss the 6’ bed of my old Ranger. And to think I’m now I’m considering an even smaller bed with the Ranger. Crazy!!! But still better than driving a full size. I’ll get creative with a bed rack for my canoe, kayaks and paddle boards I guess.

I still think Ford is missing out a market share by only offering one cab/bed configuration!!! This would look good in my driveway (in Tremor trim with a 2.7l under the hood please)…

i think the leaves are better for towing too. and the ride on the ranger was so smooth compared to the maverick and tacoma (which were what my other choices were)

I started at a Ford store in 2007 and a King Ranch F-150 topped out at $45,000, about 56% of what one runs today.
A 2025 STX, or XLT offers as many or more capabilities, amenities, and safety features as a 2007 King Ranch- except leather seats- for a similar price range. I think folks need to reconsider expectations of what a truck should offer before talking prices.

Well I went to the biggest dealership in this area on Saturday to inquire about Rangers (and Broncos) and whether or not they had any information on '26 yet. Ended up leaving the dealership in a brand new F-150 Lightning instead. The numbers worked out better actually, because with the federal tax credit ending in 5 weeks they are pushing the Lightning hard. Wasn't expecting that at all, but man this is an amazing truck. It's LOADED and leased better than the Ranger. Wow.

Maybe when this lease is up the Ranger will have a 6' bed option finally and I'll get one then. Cheers fellas! TTYL.

My condolences to you on your Lightning lease. You're very likely to be disappointed in it's inability to live up to its hype.

I mean, seriously. It's a joke. On the Ford Ranger XL, you have to pay:

- $535 for a trailer tow package just to get a receiver hitch and harness
- $275 to get a brake controller

And a 400+ lb/ft engine isn't even an option. There's some other stuff missing too, but I won't list it out here.

All of this is standard equipment on the Chevy Colorado base model. By the time you option both trucks similarly the Ford is like $3,500 more money.

And why doesn't Ford have a model with a 2" lift and nicer tires and such like the Chevy Colorado Trail Boss? Why do I have to pay $58k for a Raptor to get a powerful engine, small lift, offroad goodies, and nice tires? I can get those things on the Chevy for $44k.

I'm a Ford owner right now, and have had countless Ford trucks in the past. But Ford really needs to get their stuff together. They're getting trounced.
Sorry but comparing a ranger raptor to a trail bos is ridiculous. The power trains and suspension aren't even in the same league. The Chevy twins look really nice and the numbers are impressive on paper but they are extremely sluggish

Apparently all XLTs built in July 2025 and on are missing equipment that was formerly standard. No more power sliding rear window (in fact I think the slider goes away altogether), no more wireless charging pad, etc. A lot of things are now included in yet another $500 package called the "Convenience Package". Sigh.. the value of this little truck keeps declining every 6 months. It's sad.

I'm betting that the 2026 trucks will have even more upcharges for equipment.
I ordered a XLT. While deciding. Over a month the Convivence Package came up. I was like i did not see that before. The bed lights and power outlet was a must. I think i just got in on the power back window. I was happy Ford is not making you purchase the running boards with the FX4 package. Going to put on some solid frame sliders. The MPC motor persuaded me to buy. Been looking for years. Glad I did not get the 5G Ranger. I think its good to not buy the first year NA Ranger made in Michigan.
Hopefully they will have figured out the Warrantied Brake problem by the time mine is built.
