I didn't see a thread on this already. Apologies if my search-fu just sucks. It's totally possible.

Anyway, received notification that inspection and software remedy are available for this, but parts are not available. Which is fine. Inspection, update, low likelihood of parts needing to be replaced. Doesn't seem like that bit of a deal.

But the wild part to me is the last thing in this section of the notice:
Remedy
A remedy is available. Software is available to repair your vehicle. Ford Motor Company has authorized your dealer to reprogram the body control module bcm free of charge. If B14AA is present, parts are currently unavailable. Dealers may offer affected customers a rental vehicle until replacement parts become available estimated July 20, 2026.
I talked to the local dealer this morning and they confirmed that if the truck were to need parts they would not be giving it back to me until after it was fixed. That's almost two months. Crazy. Not super keen on being without my truck for that length of time. I know it's low odds, but still... wild.

Aaaaaaaanyway, anyone else get their notification as well?

I would roll the dice and keep it until the fix was available. I read (reliability of source unknown) that the actual short has happened less than five times. I do not want my truck being shuffled around a dealership lot for two months. If 5 in 140,000 is a true statistic, I will go with those odds and ride it out until August.

Oh, I have no plans on leaving it. Not super worried about it. Just think that’s a wild timeline.

I plan to wait until parts are available at my dealer to have it inspected. I don't want to leave my truck there for several weeks.

Ohh I wonder if this is the issue my truck had. Any more detail on what the issue is?

I have 3 open recalls. I'm just waiting til I gather up all of them....then going to dump it back on my ford dealer. . They can fix all at once. :sunglasses: .......I figure they'll be about 6 by next year!
