While drying the truck after washing i noticed that the drivers wiper doesn't extend upwards, it hits the hood edge. Also like to keep the arms up during snow/ice storms so the blade doesn't stick to the glass.
Not understanding that they couldn't have designed a work around with a different arm design.
I've owned more vehicles than i can remember but this is a first.

Interesting. I haven't noticed that yet. I will check it out tomorrow.

Most new vehicles do this - they tuck the wiper blades under the hood for aero reasons

my partners Hyundai does it and the same with my VW before I got the Raptor

You can just rotate them up by hand and then they are free to lift off the glass. Just be sure to put them back down before starting the truck again. They will to return to the normal spots on their own and if the drivers side is still up, it will contact the hood and slam back down.

When replacing wiper blades or wiper arms: 1. Place ignition key in accessory position (vehicles with keys) or key inside the vehicle (vehicles with intelligent access), press the Start-Stop button without applying the brake pedal. 2. Activate the wipers using the stalk switch. Do not manually rotate the wiper arms and blades. Damage to the wiper motor may occur. 3. When the wipers are at mid travel, move the key to the off position (units with keys) or press the Start-Stop button again to leave the wipers in a service position. Service the wiper blades once the wiper arms are at the mid travel position.

Ok i just gave that a try there was a slight resistance but both wipers moved to the vertical position, i also tried it on the other vehicle in the driveway a Chevy Equinox that has no hood /wiper arm clearance issue and i wasn't able to move them there was more of a locked feel.
So this is new one me, never had this 'feature' on my vehicles.
And my bad for not reading the manual I'm guessing it's in there,
Thanks.

I'm kinda surprised we don't have euro-style wipers that are independent of each other. Those are fantastic with their self adjust and park features.

I know it 's not a Raptor, but it is a Ford, my Shelby has the same design, many of them have paint chips out of the back of the hood where the driver side wiper arm makes contact if you try to extend it out while it's in the full parked position.

Might be a first for you, but definitely not a new issue.

I've had several vehicles that you need to put the wipers into a service position.

I've been driving BMW's and Mercedes since the 90's and can't remember having a car or SUV that wasn't like this. It's better aerodynamics to have them below the hoodline when not in use, so when I want to change the blades or keep them off the windshield during a snow/ice storm then I just shut the car off with the wipers on and at the top of the rotation. Not a big deal.
