I was thinking this would cut into the Bronco sport sales as I saw the article title. The author does bring this up along with a lot of other speculation. I'm not sure how the Bronco sport is selling. maybe they're looking for a replacement? It seems strange to me that Ford would be testing a vehicle in the states if they don't have any plans to release it here.

I've only noticed a few in my area since they started selling them. Many more Broncos up here.

If we had to guess, we’d say the Everest’s appearance was likely tied to Ford’s global testing routine rather than a secret US launch plan. Colorado, with its mix of high elevation and unpredictable weather, has long been a proving ground for emissions and durability testing. Nevertheless, other sightings of Everest prototypes in Michigan and along Interstate 70 only added fuel to the speculation.

i think there is room for the Everest in the USA but they would have to move manufacturing

the bronco sport is a decent seller for ford

The Everest is 1000Ă— the SUV the lifted Focus Bronco Sport is and 100Ă— the SUV the Explorer is.
Accordingly, doubt they’ll ever bring it here. But I’d probably trade my Ranger and Jeep in on one if they did.

If i wanted a body on frame SUV, based on the Ranger, i'd have kept my Bronco Badlands. I needed a pickup more than an SUV so i went back to one. That being said, my wife may like the Everest over her '22 Explorer

i'd take this over a bronco or bronco sport anyday. The bronco isnt my thing, it only looks good in certain trims and accessories, and the sport is hideous, yet majorly popular oddly enough. My brother has one and its a meh experience to drive. Underwhelming is probably a good description, but it gets you from A to B.

Everest is basically a 4Runner from Ford. 4Runners sells gangbusters.

The current Explorer, probably the closest competitor in house, isn't an off-roader like the Ranger or Everest, it's a sports car that shares most of its parts with the Mustang.

There's definitely room for an Everest.

The Everest is closer to a Land Cruiser Prado than a 4Runner; it’s bigger, more of a truck, and seats 7. I too would take one over a Bronco (or 4Runner) any day.
Chevy used to sell the same basic thing down under as well, the Holden Colorado 7.

It's useful to compare the measurements of the Ford Everest and the new 2025 Toyota 4Runner, as the numbers show they are remarkably close competitors in the same size class. The new 4Runner, for example, has an overall length of 194.9 inches, which makes it about an inch and a half longer than the Everest at 193.4 inches. The 4Runner is also slightly wider, measuring 77.8 inches across, compared to the Everest's 76.1 inches.

This close sizing is key when considering seating capacity. While the Everest is often highlighted for seating seven, it’s a feature that the Toyota 4Runner has also long offered as an option.

Bronco sport sells like crazy here, too. And its so much like a maverick and escape that the maverick suspension works on it and vice versa.

Ford Everests are on Australian roads as thick as the hairs on a cat's back. They are basically a shortened Ranger with SUV body and coil rear (though different to the Raptor coil set up). Definitely not a Bronco Sport 🤮.
I hope you guys get them in NA as they are a pretty good thing.
