Anyone happy with their grill lights?

I just got the f150leds grill lights and it seems we must have different gills. I tried to put the light into the three slots and they aren’t close to fitting the two outside ones. They protrude beyond the bottom lip of the grill. The center one barely fits behind the lip by maybe an eighth of an inch.

Those that installed them, did you just let them hang over the edge, drill out the back of the hole (more then just enough to pass the wire through) enough to slide them in more?

If not, Ford must have poor quality control on the grills they manufactured for the 2024 ranger raptor.

I removed the double sided tape all together and jammed then in there as far as I could then pulled and zip tied the wiring tight on backside .

There are pics of mine back a page or so in this thread , it shows how far in mine are setting .

I did email message F150LEDs and commented on one of their YT videos, they responded they had something in the works for the Ranger Raptor, and ask me to send them pics of what I had tried before and the F150LEDs I have now.

I modded the lights from my F150LEDs.com kit to fit pretty much flush with the pockets on the grill. The mod isn't for the faint of heart. The whole time I was doing it I was thinking... this might be a waste of $120. I took some material off the light housing on my belt sander and tapered them down a bit by taking off more material towards the rear the housing.

I didn't but I might be able to pop one out later today and take a pic.
I also removed the grill to drill the holes from the backside. The holes needed to pass the wire connector through are huge. When I installed the cheap ebay lights I only needed 1/8" -3/16" holes. These holes are around 7/16" - 1/2". I don't think the pockets that the light fits into are that tall. You have to forcibly squeeze the connectors through the pockets until they reach the holes.
Grill removal was easy. I watched a video on youtube and had the grill removed in about 10 minutes.

I was wondering the same thing, I just wasn’t sure what all was inside there and how thick the housing was before I would be getting into something critical to the function of the light.
That’s awesome. I too would love to see some pics of the lights to get a better feel for how much I can take off and just general visual guidance on how to make this mod to my F150LEDs .

Thanks for the added information about the installation challenges. I returned the lights to F150leds and think I’ll wait until someone sells lights that are really made to fit our grilles.

Yeah, pretty much the only thing holding me back from getting grille LED's. You have to choose between the really good fitment of the ebay LED's but with hotspots (visible individual LED's) or the F150LED's with great LED smoothness and brightness but less than good fitment.

Anyone reach out to Nick at F150LED's to see if he'll adapt a Ranger specific kit that fits better than the '23 and older Rangers?

I did they said they were working on them but that was 3 months ago and still nothing.

I got the same ones and for now I installed them to upfitter(aux) 1. But maybe I move to the parking lights. Like you I had to drill a pretty big hole from the back side to accommodate the plug but they look really good and they are very bright. I wanted to tuck them back into the opening a little more but decided that I would risk cutting too much grill, so they are where they are.

No, they don't fit perfectly. As mentioned they stick out a bit but they look really good. Since the openings are tapered, I could have made them fit better by increasing the size of the back of the opening but I chose not to risk getting too overzealous. Here is how they look. You can see that they are not perfectly aligned because the sticky tape grabs on pretty quickly, but from a few feet and beyond, they look great.

I looks to me like the same lights. No wedge look to the body. I hope I’m wrong as I’m waiting for a fixture that fits properly.
