I've been thinking about that security module. How well does it work?
It works just fine.

The security module essentially just adds a two-stage shock sensor, if the vehicle already has remote start capability; else, it can add remote start functionality as well. Both stages are adjusted with one rotary adjustment knob. The first stage triggers a single horn honk and flash of lights, e.g., a mild bump to the vehicle. The second stage triggers continuous horn honking and flashing lights for 30 seconds, e.g., something causing a full alarm like glass breakage or a significant bump to the vehicle.

I found it best to mount the module to something solid. The installation and learning procedure were quite simple.

I used points so for $60 it was a simple decision.

The local dealership installed my 4DTech on Tuesday. Interesting, they also commented on how difficult it was to seperate the connectors.

Eveything works fine now and I don't have to suffer the auto shut-down followed my a stumbling start. Definitely worth the hundred dollars.

I installed one from Aliexpress, it looks well built, and it worked perfectly on a 2025 Ranger Raptor, Euro 6 in Chile .

Ordered a 4D, intending to install it in my 24 RR. Problem was I couldn't undo the connector. No matter how I tried I couldn't get it to release. Even had my sons try, just in case the old man was getting loopy. No luck. Finally took it to the dealership and had it installed. When I got it back the service manager commented that the tech had a hard time with the connector. No damage, just wouldn't release.

Anyway, it works as advertised and I couldn't be happier.

On the 4D install, to undo the connector it needs to be worked from the middle. Mine has worked flawlessly too.

Interesting that the Ford Service Technician also had a hard time with the connector. Finding and unlatching the connector was not the issue for any of those that tried to remove the connector.

It took me a minute to figure out where to put my fingers, but then it was very easy to separate and reattach. I'd give the whole process at most a two out of ten in terms of difficulty.

I installed the 4DTech last weekend.
2 days (ok, not all day) to undo the connector and maybe 2 minutes to install.
I watched videos, looked at pics, read posts over and over... and could not undo the connector.
I unscrewed (10mm if I recall correctly) the 3 bolts holding the module in place and even when looking directly at the connector, I could not undo it.
I used a super thin flat head screw driver to press down on the connector just inside (barely) the edge of the module and it finally released.

I have included a photo of the harness still connected to the module.
Hope this can save someone time.

I got my eliminator in today, install went pretty easy.
‘Used a body clip pry tool. Pushed in the release button and used the pry tool, came right out.

I've had the 4DTech in mine for a year now and have had no issues at all.

I'll also mention a bonus tidbit of information regarding the RA Ranger Auto trigger hand break module, if some have considered it.
They WILL work together in tandem with no issues. I'm one of the early receivers of that module and installed it the day I got it.
There's been zero issues and it works as intended.
Just unplug the end of the 4DTech from the wiring harness (leaving it plugged into the truck's module) and install the RA Ranger unit between the 4DTech and the truck's wiring harness.

That's all that needs to be done.

Yes I pressed that clip with middle finger till my finger pad went totally numb and nothing. Then got an angled flathead and levered from back middle of connector against tab while rocking in see-saw motion to pry the the front top of connector and boom first try got it. The problem is the release tab is just too narrow and deeply inset for a human finger, it's an obvious design flaw from Ford and I believe there's a reason that flaw exists...
