I installed a tonneau cover and the factory bed lights weren't bright enough for this old guy.

I was at Costco this weekend and picked up these under cabinet light strips for $28. They're rechargeable, motion sensors, and switch activated.

I upgraded the magnets to neodineum magnets (didn't think the stock ones would take a Bo Duke RR crossing jump) and stuck switch beside the 120v outlet

Nice

on my ZR2 I had some strip LED light that used an adhesive backside to stick to the bed

same features as you mentioned: battery powered, motion sensor with a button to turn on manually…..it would even turnoff after being left on accidentally

they were cheap too

but I like the look of yours

thanks for the heads up

Do those require each separate strip to be charged or all they all connected (only one charge needed)

Each is separate as far as charging, but can be linked electronically to all come on together.

i wonder how long a charge lasts? it would be great if you only have to charge it like once a year since they will probably not get a bunch of use and probably require crawling into the bed to unhook and charge

I did something similar but with Husky magnetic lights that lasts up to 10 hour on low power. I use them when doing oil changes, etc. They have a hooks too to attach to things and our type C power. When not in use, I have them attached to each bedsides and lights up the whole bed.

The lights rotate 180 degrees as well so allows for pointing on the task at hand. They also have motion sensor

Too early to tell yet. They couldn't be easier to charge, magnets hold them to the bed. Just pluck them, charge them. Slap them back on

i would have to put them on each side since i am not tall enough to reach the middle of bed bulkhead from outside the bed.

I don't have any experience with them, and they could be great but did see a LOT of people saying on the Costco Reddit section that they were not satisfied with the lights, I just searched it because I would like that setup myself...

Fair enough. I figured for $28, I'd risk it.
Heck, I've paid more for beer that I didn't like.
