Thanks for this thread. I just ordered the AAA bag kit for my 2024 RR. I've been towing a bit and the squat is pretty bad, so I'm looking forward to installing. I am going with manual inflation since I don't tow often, but I am going to mount a digital gauge with sensors in the bed so I can monitor. I plan to inflate with a Milwaukee M12 tire inflator. If I was using the truck all the time or hauling a lot, I would have gone with onboard air, but that seemed overkill. $601 shipped as of August 2025 for the AAA kit with international express shipping ($130ish USD).
Just an update. I did order the AAA airbag kit from overseas and received it a couple of days ago. I want to provide a fair warning to anyone who orders this kit from them. While the kit looks nice, I will say I wasn't overly impressed with their customer service. When I ordered, I paid for their international express shipping. I think it was $20-30 more than the economy shipping. A couple days later I got a shipping notification that it was sent via FedEx International Economy. Having never ordered from them, I did not know what shipping service they used.

When the package got to Los Angeles customs, it was held by customs due to missing documentation. I was just leaving for a multi-day camping trip, but got an email to AAA Suspension about the issue. I got a reply that they couldn't use their postal service, and they pretty much refused to contact FedEx to resolve the issue. I did some research and advise them, but they again just put the ball back in my court and complained that they had to spend an extra $100 on shipping because the postal service won't deliver to the US any longer due to the likely changed import tariffs. When I got back from camping, I had to jump through a bunch of hoops with FedEx, going from department to department until I got to the clearance team. The shipment was missing the HS7 form, so I had to work with FedEx to complete that using Docusign. After I did that, the package cleared in about six hours and was delivered a few days later. I was just surprised that the seller wouldn't look into it.

Today I got a customs import duty fee and had to pay FedEx an additional $124. I just wanted to post that if you do order in today's revised import laws/duties/tariffs, be prepared to do some legwork and pay an additional fee after delivery. I'm not complaining about it, but I just want to let others know to plan accordingly.

Does anyone know, does this change are have an effect on anything when they are aired down? I would like to get this because of the squat when I tow my motorcycle trailer, and it's only maybe 2500 pounds.

If this has any effect on the handling when not towing, including off road wheel travel or whatever, it would not be worth it for me.

KayaPayaPigDog shared a YT video about this:

Basically he notes that the airbags don't let the suspension fully compress and he can feel it when going over things like speed bumps (when deflated). Though he shows the airbags squashed when deflated and comments that's without extra load weight, which can't really be true. These Raptor suspensions are really soft, so even just 100kg of weight in the back will compress it more than a standard Ranger.

On mine, I carry ~250 kg constant (extra) load and my airbags will look compressed like his in the video if deflated, but if I inflate back to factory ride height (rear ~625mm center hub to fender) they're not compressed at all. Though I can't say how different this feels from a stock empty Raptor (mine already had a canopy, etc) but it inherently would be, and mine feels better with the airbags than without (but I'm carrying extra constant load).

So I think it depends on how you intend to use your Raptor. If you mainly drive it unloaded, and only load up or tow every now and then, I wouldn't recommend airbags. If you carry extra constant load and frequently take trips loaded up, I think airbags are worth it (or get higher rated springs).

One thing Raptor owners need to be mindful of is where the shocks sit when compared to factory ride height after making changes or adding weight. Lots of people add weight making them sit lower in the shock stroke, which will make them have to work harder and stiffen up sooner (less available compression distance). If you want to use them more like utility trucks, the suspension will need compensation.

I did finally speak to the importer of BOSS air suspension in the USA. They have triple bellow kits in stock they just have not had them listed on the website for some reason. They will have them listed shortly.

Has anyone installed airbag suspension on their Ford Ranger? I would like to improve the quality (not capacity) of towing my travel trailer. A friend installed them on his new Ford F-150 and loves them.

I installed the AAA bags on my Raptor and they were alright and did the job. We tow a 22ft travel trailer or a 16ft open deck steel trailer with a 4 person RZR (and accessories). I will say, they were triple baffle which limited suspension travel and thus created a harsher ride when NOT towing and daily driving.

However, I have since removed the AAA’s and will be installing the Boss dual baffle bags shortly. The hope is the same functionality but less harshness when daily driving. With both sets out of the truck I can compress the dual much flatter than the triple by myself, so I’m optimistic.

Regardless, towing with bags is a must, IMO. That, coupled with a shockerhitch (look it up) means much much better ride for the family members.

So was the Boss 2 bags better than AAA triples bags

My apologies, I never updated this thread. I have now towed several times with the Boss bags, and yes, dual baffles are noticeably much better while towing and while unloaded! That is, for my use case. The kit overall was also much better quality too, IMO. This could be because my AAA's came from Australia and were in transit for months, being battered around by however many carriers to get here. Anyway, regarding the Boss kit, there's much more rear suspension travel now when unloaded (or not towing) so it feels much closer to 100% stock. I also do not keep my bed full for daily driving, it's rather empty but a few tools. Keep in mind too, I installed an auxiliary schrader valve in my bed which is plumbed to the bags to allow me to pull the core and let 100% of the air out of the bags when I am not towing. It's recommended to keep at least 5 PSI in them for daily driving, but again, I did not want to feel the extra suspension resistance. To each their own. I'll take the "risk" in search of a better daily ride (whilst not towing). I did this same thing with the triple AAA bags which I had installed for over a year and when I uninstalled, the bags were as good as new.

My air suspension system is not an off the shelf solution, mind you. It's something I have created/built myself, though is completely unnecessary for normal use. I have an AirLift Performance under hood compressor, management system (WirelessOne, using the wireless remote) mounted to my frame and wired to my Ford overhead cab switches, and plumbed directly into the bags with the aforementioned schrader valve for core removal and a way to inflate the bags if the compressor fails. I can monitor and regulate the PSI using the wireless remote, and set "favorites" for quick inflation when needed.

Hope this helps!

Like I’ve mentioned to several members here, do not look at the Boss website or 3rd party resellers if you’re interested in buying, IMO. I couldn’t find any of the Raptor kits available when browsing. I simply emailed them directly (and maybe you have already): [email protected]. They responded and informed me they had kits available in stock in the US, sent from the Midwest, which meant very quick shipping to me. Maybe this is the case for other Ranger trims, too.
