These trucks will not move till Ford give the OK to buy to dealers which will not happen till they are happy with quality per day coming from the plant and press drives which are scheduled the middle of March. The same thing happened to 24 Mustang. Ford is trying to slow the recall processes after new model launch.

Press drives are pretty much worthless at this point. That should have been done a couple months back.

I have spent almost all of the morning trying to utilize the as built app mentioned above, I get to the point where I enter the van it then says some information on how to save it, I click on the download and it asks me how I would like to open it, hi myself and a friend who is a super computer geek neither one of us on two different computers actually three can open the file, do you need to be a Ford mechanic log in In order to open the download we all have had absolutely no luck trying to do that, is there something we are missing and by the way it says to choose how you would like to open it or directions to the App Store

You don't need to download any files. You will only see something on that page if your truck is built or in the process of being built.

If your truck isn't "in production" on the tracker, you're not going to get any information on the module page.

I understand Ford's rational for quality assurance. They've had some launches that bit them, so I want them to get it right. I don't want any recalls or janky bits on my new Ranger.

You're more in the know than I am, so I'm curious what you think Ford's rationale would be for holding back ordered vehicles until after a media event. Just because it isn't obvious to me doesn't mean it's invalid. If/when they did it for the Mustang, did they ever explain why?

Ford's Chat representative said my dealer should have my truck between the 2/9 and 2/15. If Ford knows that's incorrect, they should just say so.

People, who have ordered Rangers may not like the news, but it'd be nice to receive some.

Please explain how this works. Let’s say my RR is built and sitting in the yard. Will they bring it back into the shop and fix any issues that they found if they find issues before it’s shipped or does it just sit there and the dealer fixes it once they get it?

Here is my long and sad story....

My 2024 Ranger Lariat was ordered the 29th of May last year. Yes I have an order and VIN #. The build date slipped six different times. Yes there was a strike that certainly impacted production and yet I was hopeful each time it slipped I would receive the truck maybe in January. The build date was set for January 8th and the Ranger is in and has been in production since, yes, January 11th and it is now February 1st.

I did contact the dealership and here is what Ford said when he reached out for information.

Ford - “The 24MY Ranger has not achieved Okay To Buy (OKTB) yet, meaning Ford has not authorized the sale of these units to dealers and customers. The Michigan Assembly Plant is reviewing early production units for potential quality errors. This causes units, like the referenced VIN, to be put on “Quality Hold”, when in reality, there is most likely nothing wrong with the unit and it is just being prepped for final delivery to your dealership.

The delay on Ranger has been extended due to the striking of the plants late last year and preventative quality holds to ensure the vehicles are not shipped with poor quality.”

My thought is that it is sitting in a lot awaiting that final inspection but I have little hope it will be here in February. So tell me what you think? BTW I know how many miles are on the odometer and how much gas is in the tank and what the tire pressure is because my dealership could look at those stats from my VIN #. Oh yeah it is in a lot somewhere I am certain.

If you have a spray in bed liner it may add time because it will be done after build is completed.

Curious if there's any big differences in a spray-in vs. drop in bedliner? Opted for spray-in on my 2022 Maverick, and husband's '16 F150 XLT has the drop-in. We're both happy with what we have, but when I placed an order for my '24 Ranger XL I decided to go with the drop in this time because I figured there may be constraints.

Thoughts, please.

I don't know why there'd be a constraint for sprayed in, bc my experience with LineX on my 2019 was fast. It would be gravy work for a shop set up across the street from MAP.
But why are they stacked up in a lot at the factory? One photo shared here from FB...I swear I see my white truck in there, but can't tell if the bedliner is in!! Frustrating...
Regarding bedliners, I had drop-ins on my first 3 Rangers and much prefer the LineX on my 5g. I moved drop ins from truck to truck, BUT way slippery, sometimes rattle, and junk accumulates and rusts the bed underneath...

I've had both and prefer the spray in liner 10 fold over drop in. Stuff slides all over in the drop in liner. The drop in also rubs paint away which eventually leads to rust. Just not a fan of them.
