Where did you get your information?
Widely available on the internet if you look around. Also common sense, there are vastly more used vehicles on the market then new, and they are cheaper. Most people treat cars as utility type purchase, point a to point b. Look at the general economy as well, New car prices are up (so are used, but they are naturally cheaper) and people are complaining they cant buy groceries and such, which means they are not buying new cars.

  • This year the US is tracking to about 7 million new cars sold across all brands.
  • There are 335 million people (as of 2023) in the us.
  • As of 2022, there are 283 million cars total in the US.
  • Looking at car fatality metrics, we can see about 40k people die a year in a car crash. So we can ball park a net loss of about 60k vehicles totally gone or damaged.
  • There are about 6 mil non-fatal auto accidents in the US per year.
With those rough numbers and just general understanding that people are buying and selling cars all the time, the vast majority of purchases used.

That info does not support your statement at all. It says nothing of brand loyalty (Repeat buyers of same brand) and does not mention total sales of used VS new. Just because you cut and paste something doesn't mean it supports your statement. Get better facts than check than get back to me.

Lololol cool story bro. Keep on believing whatever you want, that's what has lead to the next 4 years anyway. Facts dont work for some folks, we know that, but I guess maybe we dont because people want to take their opinion as fact instead of actual numbers and simple situational deduction.

So maybe I like playing devil's advocate. Here are some supporting details. And in my 14 years selling cars it has always been true.

Obviously with internet forums, human behavior has shown most people don't jump online to declare their truck is working just fine. We typically only post on forums about issues when we have issues.

Does anyone know what percentage of 3.0L engines have Cam Phaser issues? I don't pretend to know. I am just posing the question.
My truck works fine, only issue is the J braces. I bought the 2.3L knowing that its supposed be a pretty solid engine though. I will say I was not impressed with the service department at my local Ford dealership. Talked to the service manager and it was some woman that's probably never touched a wrench in her life, same with the service writer. My salesman said the first oil change was free, I called the service department they told me the first oil change was free after looking me up, and then when I went in they wanted to charge me. Its fine, charge for oil changes, but don't tell me they're free ahead of time. Dealing with VW, I've never had an issue, same with Toyota. At this point my main worry is that if I need warranty work Ford might be hard to work with.
