Not sure if this has been mentioned and if it has my apologies….

Today, I turned off my RR while in drive…. Sitting still of course….The shifter moved itself from D to P w/o me touching it…. Thought I was seeing things so I tried again to verify and it did the same. Not sure if it’s been noticed by anyone else but thought I would mention!

Yes it is known. If you turn the truck off while it’s in drive, it’ll put itself in park for you or if you use the parallel park or backup feature it’ll do it when it’s done. Pretty cool

It also auto shifts to Park if you stop then open the door before turning the engine off

Yes it’s a known feature. You can bypass this by pressing the M button on the side of the gear lever when in neutral. This will keep the trick in neutral with engine off, or engine on and drivers door open

My 22 work f150 column shifter does the same as well.

Most vehicles with electronic shifters do this now ,not just Fords
