I'm guessing its because that one faces the oil fill cap. So you don't cut yourself removing the cap.
Thats a good idea on why its there. Sounds very reasonable

I reached out to Clamp-Aid and they responded back that they too have seen only one on 2025 Ranger and Bronco's. Their attempt to work something out with Ford for matching color fell upon deaf ears.

Clamp-Aid did however send me a sample kit to try and see how I liked it........I'm still processing the results of "Blue overload." Although I'm a fan of Jerry Garcia of The Grateful Dead lyrics....."a little too much is just enough for me"....I think I over did it. I'm seeking professional help as I type :sunglasses:

Forgot to mention.......as you're poking around the engine compartment, it's worth dealing with the "zip-tie" cuts from the factory. Like the gentleman stated about protection when messing with the oil filler cap, those fresh cut zip-ties are brutal.

I kinda treat my trucks and cars equally....inside and out. Tending to engine compartment detailing is just part of pride in ownership. Ok.....back to my therapy. My wife's '81 GMC.......very cool vehicle.

I received a reply back from "The Mothership" (Ford Customer Service): Dear Donnie......."We appreciate the opportunity to evaluate this matter, as the satisfaction of Ford owners is important to us. Please know that here within the Customer Relations Center, our parts information is limited. For assistance, please contact a member of our Fords Parts team via phone at 1-844-589-0060 - Monday thru Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm EST."

OK, had to go look, sure enough, my '25 2.7 V6 has the exact same thing, two clamps, but only one with a protector on the end.

Hose Clamps.jpg
How about taking the hose clamp and dipping it into the material called DIP - IT the stuff that protects tools, maybe.

I see a flaw in that concept.

Seeing a traditional hose clamp under my hood was pleasantly surprising as the traditional Ford hose clamps are a real pain. What caught my eye though was one of these Hose Clamp End Protectors as pictured. But why didn't Ford put them on the other 3 hose clamps? So I reached out to the Ford "mothership" and asked how I can get the ends for the other clamps. After many communications attempts, I have yet to find anyone at Ford that has ever seen them......have you?

After getting cut and bleeding all over engines in the past where someone had cut the ends off longer clamps and they were sharp, I use to slide vacuum caps over them! their cheap and available in many colors. Bingo!

I too have seen the Clamp-Aid protectors with their logo. The one I have has no logo and are nowhere to be found. As a retired QC manager, my folks used to do the same thing and see what they could sneak by final inspection. My best story was when I was with Shelby in Las Vegas and the Mechanics would sign their name somewhere on the car and difficult to find.....but the new owners always found it.....great fun for all.
......speaking of build teams signing the product of their labor. Check out Jay Leno's Mustang GTD (see at 14:43):

that is a lot of blue…. 😀

but I’m thinking it would be handy to clean up the path to the oil filter. There are some treacherous sharp points down there….

Somehow I can't get excited over worm clamp end protectors when they took away the hood insulation pad and hood shocks.
