Do you engage the 4x4 system, and if so, how often and what steps do you take. I understand it's essential to keep the system lubricated. I rarely go off road, and I am sure most don't either, so it might be a maintenance items to keep track of!

While my F150 is primarily the mountain vehicle, we use the Ranger enough that I haven’t thought about it. I think I will more often now, so thanks for asking.

If I take the Ranger out I have two routes to drive to the pavement. First is 16km 4hi all the way second route is 26km 2wd all the way unless there is snow. I usually always take the shorter route but I try to put it in 4lo at least once a month

I've used 4H a couple of times now this winter due to snow. I've also used 4L when stuck in snow and 4H would not get me out. 4L walked right out. Also used 4L to get up the ramps when changing oil.

You should find a patch of dirt and engage everything every 3 months give or take, including rear locker and 4Low mode. Just needs to slip in and slip out, and move a bit.
perfect. There is a dirt road not far from me, will head over this week, thanks!

Hi, just curious do you have to be in 4wd high before stopping and switching to 4wd low? Coming from a previous 2014 Tacoma.

If you're just going to move a bit, why do you need dirt?

There's not really a difference between dirt and pavement if you're driving at yard speeds.

No. Don't engage 4x4 or locker on pavement unless it's wet from rain or snow. It can bind, and if traction is too great, break sht in there. It's not limited slip. Look at 'Wind up'
