Broncos have offered manuals since day 1.
But typical of Ford, only with the base engine. They just don't get it...

I'm a die hard manual guy, ever since I learned to drive about 1970. But I would not prefer a manual in the RR. I definitely think a manual option in a Tremor would be popular though!

I doubt we will get a manual or a diesel in the Ranger in the US. PITY.

Funny story (sort of)
The other day my young neighbor admitted he's never driven a manual transmission.
I asked him if his motorcycle (his daily in good weather) is an automatic. He said no. I raised my eyebrows and waited... Suddenly he got it!
I told him he already knows how to drive a manual, the user interface in a car will take minute that's all.

To each his own, but my knees don’t miss holding the clutch in at stop lights. I don’t miss changing out the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing either. Auto transmissions have come a long way since yhe 70’s when I learned to drive. They are a lot more reliable and better at 4 wheeling than they were back in the day. They are pretty strong when it comes to towing. You still can’t push/pull start an auto and cant rock the truck if you’re burried in mud or snow. But I’m not really missing a manual transmission.
I do miss feathering the clutch to creep. I understand the new tacos automatically match rpms and have auto hold so no more adventures on hills.

i would only take a seven speed, I’ve driven 6 and I do not like the R in the upper left.

i read that only 1% or less of the tacos are manual transmission. Toyota neutered the horsepower on the base model taco but not on the version with manual transmission. But they don’t make a 6’ bed manual transmission sr.

i think when all is said and done, the automaric is a better option. I don’t enjoy driving heavy loads with standard tensmissionss and today’s automatics are pretty nice. Couple in sport mode which downshifts well i dont really miss 40 years of driving stick.

however, I still reach for the stick out of reflex. Maybe in another decade I’ll loose that reflex…..😳

In some instances, I miss the ability to go into compound gear, or put the transfer case into 4 low without locking in the hubs and put the transmission in 3rd gear and just creep along on a mountain trail.
I wouldn’t trade compound gear for the 10 speed auto though. I can still put my truck in 4 low and creep along just fine.

Haven't driven a stick as a daily driver in more than 30 years but still reach for the shifter all the time. Routinely rest my hand on the shifter😃 reminds me of good times.

Right there with you 🤣

Definitely not quicker than the auto, but a lot of fun.

I admit taking the manual due to lower cost and reliability concerns about 10 auto. One of the downsides is that in this config, transfer case does not come with 4A setting. Only rwd or 4H.

My daily is a manual, and I'd love the RR in a manual too.

I'd be happy if Ford offered the base XL with a manual and the RR with a manual, but none of the others.

The Tacoma still has a manual in North America but only for select trims.

I gotta admit, I'm not a fan of the digital HVAC controls.
