Engine Camshaft Roller Finger Followers Recall

Just got a recall for the camshaft roller fingers followers. Has anyone else got it? The trailer control module and sun visor wires seemed minor, but this one states there is risk of engine failure.

They say no remedy available yet. It should be available in 4th quarter 2026.

I have a 2025 Ranger XLT with the 2.3L engine.

I have a 2024 2.3L engine, so it appears I lucked out, unless they add earlier models.

You would think a camshaft issue would be something Ford would want to fix immediately.

‘That is unfortunate. I read that it is only 220 rangers that were affected.

Ford seems to be fielding solutions earlier than the recall letters indicate. It might be worth checking with a dealer.

I tried to tell people that is a brand new engine in-house by ford. it's not the old Mazda 2.3.

I got the recall in the mail yesterday. Notice 26S35/NHTSA 26V343. My Ranger was built in Dec 2025. I just checked my Ford app and it doesn't list it. Only thing I have is the A-pillar recall.

Good to know. Thanks. Do you know if yours is on the NHTSA site yet. Also I am skeptical that it is only 220 Rangers. With such a wide date range it has to be bigger IMO.

I looked it up with my VIN and it showed on the NHTSA website. It's showing the visor recall and the camshaft roller recall.

You would think any OEM would want to geg that fixed asap but look at Jeep with the 3.6, it still eats cam lobes all day long.

The engine on mine was assembled at the Cleveland plant. With the exception on the curtain air bags, I've taken care of the rest of the recalls.
