My F150leds fit flush since I modified them. I took a little material off the top and bottom of the housings, mostly towards the back, slightly tapering them so the rear of the housing is slightly thinner than the front. So do the 3rd gen lights fit flush now?
Thanks. Do you have any photos of the area you sanded down?My F150leds fit flush since I modified them. I took a little material off the top and bottom of the housings, mostly towards the back, slightly tapering them so the rear of the housing is slightly thinner than the front.

The set I received recently did not. I ended up returning them because they look like garbage and don't agree with a company selling a product that doesn't fit the vehicle they specify it for. They actually told me to modify the lights with a dremel to make it work. Unacceptable in my view for the price they charged. So do the 3rd gen lights fit flush now?

No, I tried to pull one out of the grill pocket to take a pic but I didn't leave enough slack in the wires to remove one.Thanks. Do you have any photos of the area you sanded down?
Ya I was under impress at that price it was custom. Ebay sells for half price but I figured those would be generic.Yeah it’s pretty sad a company advertises that their product fits our truck but only if you sand it down yourself? What kind of ridlculousness is this. Either sale something that fits or don’t say that it does, otherwise they shouldnt be allowed to do any business on this site Imo.
Yup, for the price they are charging. The fitment should be good.If you want a 3 light setup to fit in the upper portion of the grill where it looks like Ford should have put them from the factory, there aren’t any exact fit on the market. The F150 LEDs are the better quality lights, but not the best fitting without sanding them down.
I have tried several different sets and do like F150 LEDs the best but 100% agree, they need to come out with a perfect fit solution. We see a lot of post on here with these same complaints about them.
When I realized how big the holes needed to be to get the connectors through I decided it would be easier to drill the holes from the back side of the grill. So I looked on youtube and found out it was only a 10 minute job to remove the grill. I used a 7/16" drill bit and reamed the holes a little extra afterwards. It would be nearly impossible to drill holes that big from the front without causing damage to the pockets. However with the lights in place they may hide damage to the pockets? I wanted to avoid damaging the pockets so the extra 10 minutes to remove the grill and 10 minutes to reinstall it was worth it to me. I also sanded the housings down a little to fit flush in the pockets.I also took a chance recently on the grill light kit and was pretty disappointed. It is painfully obvious with them physically in hand that they're not designed for those 3 pockets on our Raptors. You'll also need to be careful drilling the holes for the wires because a 3/8" drill bit is just a smidge too small to get the waterproof connectors through, but big enough that you can scuff up the pocket opening if you're not careful.
I also tried to trim the back of my lights to get a better fit, but you have to trim far more than anyone should be reasonably comfortable with to even get them close to fitting in there. It also appears that this compromises the weather seal on the lights. Anyway, I did get them installed and they (thankfully) all worked, but for the price I paid no one should have to do that. I'm also very skeptical on their longevity after trimming them.
Honestly, after reading other posts and most recently @Pirategrad's, I don't think I'll personally be purchasing anything else from F150LEDs because I can't trust anything to fit as advertised. I do not recommend anyone purchase this particular grill light kit.
