I am sticking with my decision to get a Ranger but for those considering a Toyota Tacoma you might try pricing one with a Power Seat. A Power Seat is not available on their SR and SR5 models and to get a Power Seat in the next higher model involves opting for a $4640 package which includes the Power Seat. To me that's quite a stretch just to get a Power Seat.

If I would get one it would be an Off-Road with an $8800 package that takes the total to around $53,000. My ideal truck would be the Ranger Raptor with the tech of the Tacoma.

Just in case my Ranger Raptor order takes too long, I'm on the call list at 3 Toyotas for the new hybrid Tacoma, TRD Pro and Trailhunter editions only. One of the dealerships I called said they wouldn't be delivered until after May or June, so I'm betting that the Raptor will come in first if Ford gets production going.

Ahhh Iā€™m pretty happy with the Ranger choice. Just hope itā€™s as reliable as my Toyotas have been. Wild how much theyā€™ve jumped in price, canā€™t imagine what the hybrid will add to it. Curious what the pro/trail hunter will end up being msrp

I just wish there was a button to control the heated seats and steering wheel in the Ranger like there is in the Tacoma. Wonder if you could add a switch or use one of the auxiliary switches to control it?

I am not a fan of the "Taco" driving position with your legs higher up due to the shallow footwell. I dont mean to say they make a bad truck, just its a tradeoff I dont want.

If all the influencers are to be trusted, the new tacoma doesn't have this problem.

The main reason I hate the new Tacoma is that ugly front bumper. The Ranger Raptor has a real bumper that can be replaced with an aftermarket option without having to cut painted parts. The Tacoma requires extensive cutting to fit a metal bumper, which I would not be willing to do. As many of these truck that are used as overland rigs, I think this was a mistake by Toyota. Not that the non raptor rangers are any better, but at least the RR isnā€™t all plastic, so my decision to get a RR was an easy one.

One of the biggest complaint that Toyota has addressed....."Allegedly"

Only reason I would consider a Tacoma over a Ranger is the fact that I can go back to a MT.

My Raptor is built and I'm seriously thinking about not getting it and going with a Tacoma like I have now. I like the way the Raptor looks on the outside but I like the options and tech of the taco. My taco has been rock solid with no issues. I don't know what to do.

no ventilated seats and no physical buttons to control them, I hate touch screen controls for things like that. It's just little things. I could care less about the power, I think the Raptor looks the best on the inside but the Taco has better tech on the inside IMO.

neither of these are that important to me to want to say yes I want thatā€¦ yes the Taco is lovely and I was quite tempted to go to Taco mainly because again it had a MTā€¦ but at the end of day.. I always wanted a Raptor and I plan to get oneā€¦ and happily they are coming out with the Ranger Raptor.. so I stick with this
