I can't get over how bad the the screen looks on these. It's like, hey lets just put this bulky looking tablet right in the middle of everything.

I agree... It looks like a after thought and it seems to be a trend because this is not the only vehicle I saw like that. lets get the biggest screen and just slap it in.

I do like the way the Ranger does theirs but putting the narrow direction across is also going to limit the size for like maps and stuff.

Wait xlt doesn't have led lights?

You made me look now.. Well Fords website says it does have leds. I know when they showed the Ranger at that event the XLT it was said not to have them in a few videos. Maybe it changed , maybe those people were told wrong info, or maybe wrong on Fords site. I would expect the website to be right.

I need to find those videos.

Still a slim possibility that I swap my RRaptor order for a TRD Pro or Trailhunter, but for now I'm sticking with the Raptor. I'm only interested in the Toyotas because of the hybrid engine, but I don't trust the hybrids in offroad situations.

A Toyota technician mentioned in the youtube comments of a tacoma video, that he had just finished training on fixing hybrid engines and he said that he didn't trust the longevity of them due to the minimal protection against water/moisture in the builds.

So for me, I would rank the RRaptor first in the midsize truck segment, followed by a tie between the turbo 4-cylinder offroad Tacomas and the 2.7 V6 Rangers, whenever they become available. After those 3, I rank the Nissan Frontier Pro4X next. The value of the Nissans is too obvious to ignore. I'm interested to see how much they will depreciate. I bet they will depreciate to the point that it would make more sense to purchase a Frontier than a Maverick, unless the Maverick is hybrid or Tremor trim.

If the TRD Pro gets the 23 MPG combined that the new Land Cruiser is getting with that engine, that would be amazing for the power and off-road capability that it has.

I mean… it’s the same for the Rangers and all the rangers will have the long 12 inch screen in the middle

no, the difference is in the Ranger it's built into the dash, the Taco it sticks above it, like it was an after thought. It would look a lot better if the dash wrapped around it instead of just stick up like it does

Ok then but just keep in mind.. this is how they have all their new vehicles… this is not just a Tacoma only design.. the Tundra has it, the new Prius has it and the Crown has it… so it’s more or less a standard design on it
