Got my shipment from Lethal yesterday, and there's a little confusion on how to register the warranty. If you go to the M-9603-REB30 listing on Ford Performance, and follow the warranty links, it eventually takes you to a document (from 2021) that states:

So, since this document is three years old, I got on the Ford Performance Chat to verify those instructions were still valid. Here is the transcript of the chat:

Thoughts?
What does RO mean?
Thanks

I had my tune installed this morning. Which meant the dealership pushed a button for me as I had already done all the prep work. Took like seven minutes to upload and install. Dealership didn’t charge me. Which was cool.

I got about 30 miles on it. I tried to drive similar to when I went to dealership.MPG was slightly better after tune but by only .3 mpg so that could be just noise. There’s a slightly more aggressive tone to the exhaust. It’s noticeably quicker with acceleration. Big difference I noticed is the shifting was improved.
I'm in Florida also. Would you be willing to share the dealer and a contact? DM works if you'd rather not post it publicly. I'd be happy to pay them...having a terrible time finding someone to do the install around Tampa.

I had an appointment scheduled with AutoNation Ford St Petersburg this morning. Drove nearly an hour there one-way with tolls for an appt at 8am. When I got there, they couldn't find the appt, lucky me I had the email to prove I had an appointment. Little good that did me. When I scheduled, they told me an hour and they would stop and come talk to me if it would take longer as I told them I would need to wait for it based on the distance traveled. This morning that changed to, we need your vehicle overnight as there are 60 people in front of you. I had also mentioned I bought the Procal from a third party and this morning it become a problem that it wasn't purchased from them. Would have had to rent a vehicle due to their incompetence and by that time I had zero trust. Left and wont' ever be back. I'm willing to take a road trip to find a decent dealer to install it.

Customer states headlight is malfunctioning adn to fix under warranty.

Warranty Claim Denied: Customer installed after market tune which cause the truck to exceed to speed at which light could project from the head lights thus damaging the headlight fluid reservoir due to excess pressure.
Yea, it would be interesting to see how they prove that.
If something like that happened, I guess my next call would be to the State Attorney General.

Also in the Tampa Bay Area. new port richey ford charges 1 hour labor. That’s what they said over the phone anyway. I’m not sure if they expect you to buy the tune from them though.

Jokes aside, there isnt much you can do, if they deny it, they deny it. There are tons of stories of non-related things causing warranty claim denials. Social pressure is about all that can be done for us plebians and thats a crap shoot.

I ordered through my dealer when I took delivery of the truck Monday. They debated even charging me labor and said once it comes in we can talk if they will or not since its 30 minutes or less. Interesting they lost your appointment, but it also sounds like they just didnt want to do the install in the first place since you arent a regular customer and such which is very much a thing at some dealers.

I've experienced that too -- "not a regular customer"..
But that seems so backwards to me. In any other service industry that I can think of, it seems to me that they would want to make a good impression to keep the customer coming back.
So, I'm curious, what in the dealers/service manager's mind, what makes a "regular customer".

I've been going to the dealer nearest my house (5 min drive) for 8 years, purchased 3 vehicles from them, and gotten oil changes for both my wife's and my car for all of that time.
Now, the last two exchange I had with them have been the worst I have ever experienced.

The kid that answered the call when I was inquiring about the Procal install wouldn't even bother to look up the part. He just said, "I don't now anything about it". Then when I asked him to look it up (granted a little bit snarky at this point), he hung up on me.

I don't get it. They have so much business that they don't mind turning people away or off the dealership entirely?

Anyway, now I've committed to going to a dealer 30 mins away and doing my own oil changes.

Yeah its a weird thing. Dealers normally want repeat customers as they make most of their money off the service areas. The thing is, they dont want to service a "car persons" car/truck they want the grandmas and non-car people. Most "car people" will do some of their own maintenance and such, so the ROI just isnt there specifically to worry about them. Yes our trucks cost 60k for one, but they will sell 7 Mavericks while dealing with us.

As far as the parts person goes, that's almost every parts person dealerships experience I've ever had, but also to give them some credit the tune is new for dealers. Dealers only sell a few Raptor Rangers, so its not something common they would order or do.
