Steeda does show its available to purchase with 2-3 week shipping times. Not sure why Ford Performance still shows it unavailable.

Called Steeda, they have 15 arriving next week to fill existing orders and will have a few extra, minus the one I just purchased.

Love2Fish, it's not guaranteed to work but if you want to try to order the performance calibration though Steeda try get in contact with someone named Sonya Stevenson and tell her Kevin in FL with the red mustang sent you...I mean it is worth the shot if nobody else has them ... took 2 days from order to receive but I'm also close to their Valdosta and Pompano Beach facilities too.

5Star is working on a computer swap….Sounds interesting. Maybe it’s as simple and plug and play? Warranty ….Put old one back in?
Yes sir, most tuning companies offer a swappable ECU, however keep in mind Ford telemetry and the EDR (Event Data Recorder).

The odometer module isn’t controlled by the ECU, it’s a separate entity to itself. It will count upwards but not backwards. The ECU also stores mileage recordings as well.

Hence, the recorded mileage reading in the ECU, will not correspond to the new ECU, odometer, EDR or Ford Telemetry.

So, if a savvy Ford technician or regional engineer, looks hard and thorough enough, they can find the differences.

It’s the price tuners have to pay when they play, which is passed on to the owner/user. The FDRS reads the ECU logs and EDR as well.

Bottomline, don’t attempt to hide a tune or a swappable tuned ECU from a dealership. With me, it’s a personal integrity issue. It’s the wrong thing to do.👍🇺🇸

Cool Thanks.
I used a BullyDog tuner with my 2019 Ranger Ecoboost and it was perfect. Now that you schooled me I will wait until it’s just a simple tune choice with my existing equipment.
Have a great day!

This might be a dumb question, does the Procall need to remain plugged in? If I have no need for more gauges or switching to the stock tune….does it need to be connect and stuck on windscreen?

Regards,

Stewart
I was wondering if you can install it yourself

Yes, you can install yourself and the instructions are easy to follow. Just make yourself aware of the warranty implications (many posts here about that) and determine if the risk is acceptable to you. Not a big risk, in my opinion, but others here will feel differently.

It’s not at all, the warranty is only on the device and tune.👍🇺🇸

Not sure on this. The way I read the tons of stuff since the 2.3 tune came out on the tune, warranty, etc. the warranty is the standard warranty extending from the date of service (regardless of date of install) thru whatever remains of the 3 year portion of the warranty assuming you had Ford or ASE install. When you make a warranty claim Ford could and this remains nebulous as not sure there is any good info on how the tune could cause a power train failure, but Ford will know you had the tune and you will have to establish that either Ford or ASE tech installed the tune when you make the claim. Depending on the dealer, and if you've kept up on all the tune threads you know there are d-head dealers out there, they could under almost any power train failure try to blame the tune if you did not have Ford or ASE install and therefore consider the warranty void.

I am and we’ve already been thru this and I post the direct response from Ford Performance Supervision. You're simply speculating on what you think might happen if………….

Doesn’t affect the 3 years/36 thousand miles or the 5 year/60 thousand miles.

The 3 year/36 thousand miles warranty the For Performance offers is on the Calibration Tool and the tune.

I’ll post Ford Performance‘s response here for reference;

Hello Jeff🇺🇸,

Q:1. Does it reduce the entire OEM warranty to 3years/36,000, including a reduction: removal of the 5 year/60K power train warranty?

Q:2. Does the tune not affect this portion the warranty?

Q:3. Is this simply a warranty on the product (Tune) and doesn’t affect the factory warranty, keeping it intact?

A: 1,2,3… Installation of Ford Performance tunes such as M-9603-REB30 does not reduce or remove your Manufacturer powertrain warranty from Ford. You will still maintain your factory coverage.

https://performanceparts.ford.com/download/PDFS/fpp-warranty.pdf

However. The installation of any aftermarket parts can adversely impact any potential manufacturer warranty claims that are made related to or caused by that specific aftermarket part/kit installed. To cover any occurrences where that could be the case, Ford Performance Parts offers a 3 year / 36,000 mile Limited Warranty from the in service date of the vehicle when a Ford Performance Kit with warranty is purchased, installed, and registered as directed. If a manufacturer warranty claim is not related to the installation of a Ford Performance Parts kit (in this case a tune) then normal manufacturer warranty applies.

Q:4. What about those who have a Ford extended, paid customer owned warranty, does it affect this warranty as well? Will it null a void this warranty all together?
A:4 We at Ford Performance can only comment on our Ford Performance Parts Limited Warranty and how it interacts with the Ford Manufacturer Warranty.

If a customer has concerns regarding any extended coverage they may have purchased, they should read their contract and contact their Agent to understand how the installation of aftermarket parts, such as Ford Performance Parts, affects their coverage.

Q:5. So, either it’s a OEM warranted Ford product or it’s not, which is it?
Q:6. Is the warranty from Ford or Ford Performance?

A:5&6 The Ford Performance Parts Limited Warranty is a plan offered by Ford Performance Parts ,which is a department within Ford Motor Company. It is specific coverage for the Ford Performance Part and should not be confused with the Ford Manufacturer Warranty.

For more information, I would recommend reading our Warranty documentation linked below…

I hope this helps answer your questions.

Terrible advice. Proper break in should be 1000 miles and an oil change before the tune.
Just out of curiosity, I'm not backing RANGER/HOBB, just want know if the calibration calls out for this to be installed after a 1000 mile break in period ? I break my engines in the way I drive them, usually. I do my first oil change after a few 100 miles. Then another one after 2000 then, after that, it's every 5000. It seems if you can't break your engine in with this tune, from brand new, then maybe our engines can't really handle the tune ?
