What misinformation? It's a fact, that if he cancels his extended warranty, he'll get his money back. How hard is that to comprehend?
Don’t play coy………….You’re insinuating and misinforming him that Ford won’t honor his extended warranty if he adds the Ford Performance tune. The warranty specified on the Procal and tune alone is 3 years 36K mile.

The ford factory warranty isn’t dependent upon this warranty, in no way shape or form. In fact, the factory warranty and any owner purchased extended warranty is intact, as per Ford Performance.

This was provided directly from a Ford Performance Supervision and posted publically post #170 in other related thread.

You fully understand ha he was clearly talking about adding the tune and feared losing his extended warranty. Instead of telling him the truth, you choose to misinform him. This isn’t the first time you’ve made several misinformed comments between this and the other thread.

The truth is there to read, if you have a mind too. However, continuing to claim differently, is both spreading misinformation and false.👍🇺🇸

You gotta understand that some of these folks have owned imports in the past where the manufacturer WOULD blackball your entire vehicle from any warranty claims nationwide if tuned. AFAIK Ford has never had a policy like that, and my experience w/my Bronco and the Ford tune has been that there have been no questions asked (I WAS denied a warranty claim because of suspension lift tho). The facts are that every service manager in the Ford universe will try to weasel out of any warranty claim they can. Best to not give them any reasons/ideas...you do know those guys have the internet too right?
That’s a fact even over the past 5 decades. Imports are a different story, due to the specific manufactures warranty requirements. They’re tight as dicks hatband and are looking for reasons to deny a warranted claim.

You as well as I know, there those modifications which are permitted and those that are not. It behoves any owner to check, not only with Ford but the dealership before undertaking the modification/s. Additionally a developing a good solid relationship with the dealership and even having them install the modification, will be more advantageous to the owner.

However, you have to pay to play. No way around it.👍🇺🇸

Sure buddy. I'm done with you. You're ignored now. Hopefully no one will trust what you are saying about the warranty and does their own research; like I and others have done.

That’s your prerogative but I’ll still see your comments. No matter, the factual information remains. Hopefully, you’ll stop and think about spreading misinformation to those uninformed, searching, members when confronted the factual information.

Not your buddy……….you’ve constantly misinformed and confused other members, regarding this tune and subject.

Trust is developed from truthful fact’s provided from the source (in this case Ford Performance), not an individuals opinions, conjecture and speculation.

Purposefully choosing to ignore or disregard these facts, says allot about an individuals thought processes and perceived reality.👍🇺🇸

Yikes! Just called my local Ford dealership to inquire about the cost of having the tune installed and he told me the labor was going to be 475 for what I can imagine is a less than 30 minute job. I definitely want to keep my warranty valid so I need to have it installed by a Ford technician but this price seems absurdly high. He had to check the pricing with his service manager and said that this is a set price so I don’t even know how I would go about fighting it. Any advice?

Do all the initial account setup and downloads yourself. Grab your Procal, and head to the auto repair shop side of town. Stop at the first shop that advertises ASE Certified mechanics and ask them to push the button and give you a work order receipt. Send it it to Ford Performance in whatever manner they require. Done!

Keep in mind per Ford any ASE certified independent shop can install this as well. It's very simple and you can do most of the work ahead of time by registering with Ford Performance. The reality is, you could do this yourself but for warranty purposes it needs to be registered with Ford as being installed by a dealer or ASE shop.

I've already prepped the ProCal4 device. It has been registered, the stock tune was already saved, and the new performance tune was downloaded to the ProCal4. All that needs to be done is for someone to push the 'Install' button for me so that I don’t void my warranty.

I reached out to a local Ford dealership to see if they can just do that for me for a (hopefully) nominal fee.

Ranger/Hobb loves spreading misinformation and yet accuses everyone else of the same.

Remember when he said that Ford Performance develops the tune and software themselves?

Had a good laugh about that with the boys at Livernois when they installed my tune today.

Your factory warranty and extended warranty will be intact with the install of the tune.

Go and read post #170 of the tune thread. It will explain what you need to know directly from Ford Performance. Anyone tells you differently, is providing false and misleading information. 👍🇺🇸
From post #170

Q:4. What about those who have a Ford extended, paid customer owned warranty, does it affect this warranty as well? Will it null a void this warranty all together?
A:4 We at Ford Performance can only comment on our Ford Performance Parts Limited Warranty and how it interacts with the Ford Manufacturer Warranty.

If a customer has concerns regarding any extended coverage they may have purchased, they should read their contract and contact their Agent to understand how the installation of aftermarket parts, such as Ford Performance Parts, affects their coverage.

This says nothing about keeping the extended warranty intact. That post doesn't really answer anything other than they can only speak for the 3yr/36,000 mile warranty Ford Performance gives with the tune.

You can also check with your local performance shop. I'm sure they've done thousands of tunes and can knock this out. Just take note of the following from Ford Performance (as posted in the other thread):

as long as it is installed by a Ford dealership or ASE certified mechanic. The proof has to be submitted to Ford Performance
at 10:22, Sep 13:

if i have a friend that is ASE certified can he install it or do i need to have a invoice to prove that a shop installed it?
at 10:23, Sep 13:

it would have to be on a work order, with the name and number of the ASE mechanic

You’re still imcorrect; the 3 year 36K warranty is from Ford Performance on the Procal tool and tune solely, not the Ranger Raptor factory warranty, nor does it affect it either.

You can continue to take it out of context but I suggest you read it in its entirety. He said, it doesn’t affect the factory warranty or reduce it, which is intact. Full stop.

I’ve already verified this with Ford Warranty Department, my dealership GM and Service manager. If you want to believe the misinformation, over the factual information given, go ahead. Your lost, everyone else’s gain, who purchases and installs it. Someone‘s personal doubt, isn’t going to stop me from installing or have it installed.

Pretty clear;

Q:1. Does it reduce the entire OEM warranty to 3years/36,000, including a reduction: removal of the 5 year/60K power train warranty?

Q:2. Does the tune not affect this portion the warranty?

Q:3. Is this simply a warranty on the product (Tune) and doesn’t affect the factory warranty, keeping it intact?

A: 1,2,3… Installation of Ford Performance tunes such as M-9603-REB30. No it “does not“ reduce or remove your Manufacturer powertrain warranty from Ford. You will still maintain your factory coverage.

Now you have to ask yourself; if it doesn’t affect the factory warranty at all as per his response, why would it affect an owner purchased extended warranty? Answer; it doesn’t and I’ve already checked confirmed it for myself.

I’ve postEd the factual information straight from the horses mouth and there are still those who don’t understand or believe it. The naysayers. So, I’m not going to bother and they can go find out for themselves………….🥱👍🇺🇸

Anyone got info on how the mpg is affected
Too soon to tell, but I wouldn't expect any real world change. Driving habits will affect mileage more than the tune. Of course right after installing it you are gonna put your foot in it to try it out (I know I did!)

Call another dealer, most are reporting around 300 for the install, my dealer also confirmed its around that mark when I asked him to quote it when mine arrives. Other wise not much you can do.
