From methods website, the T1 uses a Darkhorse spec. 5.0L V8, but whats more interesting is the Fox shocks are only 2" diameter tubes. Could be due to the weight since the T1 is a race vehicle with extensive use of aluminum alloys and carbon fiber etc.

I find it a bit ironic how people say the stock 2.5 shocks aren't adequate yet they are on the RR race truck and have survived Fink 3x now and Baja twice. Then the T1 uses even smaller shock diameter mostly likely becuase they are tuned for the lighter vehicle weight.

Sure, there may be reasons to change them, but its not because they over heat or have sub-standard performance. The 2.5s are sized pretty good for the RR.

I think the T1 has 2 dampers per corner...

So it's running a 2" and a 2.5" on the front, and a 2" and a 3" at the back.

A bit more suspension than the RR...

The coilovers in a dual shock setup are pretty much just there to hold springs. They are valved to provide very little damping. So they don't generate much heat etc.

The front and rear bypass shocks do most of the dampening work.

The T1 is a completely different setup than the factory 2.5's. Running 2.0 shocks AND 2.5 bypass's in the front and a 3.0 bypass's in the rear.

Also I don't think I've seen anyone saying they are inadequate although it doesn't take much to bottom them out. Despite whatever is on the race truck people like to change/upgrade stuff.

I'm not sure why you're so compelled to stand on this "the race truck runs it" hill when people want to change stuff on their truck.

Dampers on a race truck are also going to be replaced/rebuilt every 200-1000 miles depending on the race. Its not mentioned but I'd be willing to bet the T1 has external hydraulic bump stops, which go along way in protecting the base damper from issues caused by bottom out.

I had my dampers rebuilt at 50k miles and the shop said there was noticeable nitrogen mixed with the oil. Truck has seen a small amount of what I would call hard off roading and the rest is pretty mild, maybe 500 miles in total. Has never seen the bump stops.
