Yes, that’s clear. In Rock/Crawl mode, they can be activated. The discussion in this thread was about enabling them while driving in normal drive modes. And that’s what was meant.
And that’s the trick I explained…on my truck I activate the camera at speed moving drive mode in rock; but then I move back in normal and the camera stays on..

To get back on topic and save some typing: this is a Forscan thread.

But we can summarize what we’ve been discussing for two pages: Germany seems to be the only country where the manual correctly states how the car actually behaves. It also appears to be the only country where you enter the VIN to get a tailored online manual. And just as it’s shown online after entering the VIN, it’s also displayed in my car and in the Sync 4 manual. I find it very surprising that in all other countries, the manual is not as tailored and is therefore incorrect.

To summarize and close this topic, this "feature" had to be removed after an OTA and did not exist at all on newer Rangers.

I'd love for any forscan expert to figure out the difference between our and your truck setting..

Just for general information, I just wanted to try this ominous trick. When I go into Rock/Crawl mode, I have no chance of switching back to 2H. The car then tells me that the selected 4WD mode is not available in the chosen drive mode. So I have no chance to go out of 4L or 4H to see my camera with speed. So, this doesn't work on my vehicle. We probably have different software versions.
I had it checked with a official Ford tool online, and my vehicle has both all control units and the Sync 4 software up to date.

Therefore, my assumption is that those for whom it works still have an older software version.

And what remains very interesting is the fact that you all apparently have general owners manuals, whereas I have one specifically tailored to my vehicle, which matches the one in Sync 4 exactly.

I can confirm it does this with mine too. I have the most recent OTA also. It clearly looks like its only for the US market Ranger Raptors. If you have a different Ranger version or live outside of the US, its not worth complaining about.

I complain about it cause I have it in my manual, but it does not work

OK, for a test, next time you drive your truck, put it in SPORT mode(regrdless of 2wd or 4A). Dont change anything before you shut off the truck. Give it at least an hour before you try to restart the truck and see if you get a pop-up asking if you want to stay in SPORT mode.

Looking through all the F150, Maverick, and Bronco Forscan threads, there is no Forscan setting to change default drive mode on startup so there's likely none for the Ranger. It is a very popular topic and discussed ad nauseum.

You can activate sport mode via Forscan. I did it.

I guess the difference makes the 12 inch vs. 8 inch cluster. All with 8 inch does not have the popup?

If you have two .abt (for scan)or .ab (ford as built) files I can convert them to csv for easy comparison. Just send me it in a pm.
Note that the vin is present in the abt files so if privacy is a concern it can be removed by editing the file in a text editor. It’s in a lot of places though. 760-01, 726-12, 726-13, 726-14, 733-02, 706-19, and maybe others.
