Found small funnel behind back seat!!

Folded the back seat down flat today and on the passenger side behind the seat against the wall there is a small white funnel with a clip on it and it is clipped onto a slot.

Anyone know what this is for?

In the event you need to add gas with a gas can, I believe. I have a Ranger on order, but my old 2012 Ford Fusion has one.

It’s in the operator’s manual. As I understand it, it’s necessary because of the cap-less fuel filler neck. Most fuel can spouts wouldn’t be able to fit in the hole and hold that little flap open. The funnel sticks in there to hold the throat open so you can pour from the can.

You are half right, they are actually 2 caps, one is further down and the spout of a gas can won't open the second one so that's why they give you the filler. The fuel nozzle opens the second one but if you don't put it in far enough you get a gasoline shower.

Agreed. I tried using a different funnel and it would not get past the filler neck opening. The funnel found behind the seat worked fine.

On the wall behind the seat on the passenger side there is a protrusion about the size of a paper back book. There is a slot on the bottom of this and it was clipped in the slot.

On my Raptor ROW (Germany origin) there is no hole or slot, the carpet seems to be different too.

I use my my funnel to pour in octane boost. Don't try it without it. I learned the hard way.
