Fox 2.5 squeaking struts - advice appreciated!

Hi all,
About a week ago I started hearing some very noticeable squeaking coming from my Fox 2.5 struts that have been on the truck for just over 90 days. They were purchased through a Fox dealer and professionally installed. The installer reached out to Fox and they suggest multiple options: 1. disassemble the front end and send the struts in for assessment. 2. Purchase new struts, reinstall and then assessing/refunding the defective units. 3. See if the dealer will swap them for new units.

Here's the kicker though, in none of these cases is Fox willing to cover *any* labor! Is this normal, especially if they are indeed defective?!?!? This seems a bit crazy to me, assuming the issue can't be traced to the install itself. If this were a super-technical, precarious operation like installing an engine for instance, I get it. But it's struts. They go in one way, torque to spec (re-torque if specified), done.

Anyhoo, let me know what you all think. I'm pretty disappointed in the response from Fox so far.

it’s probably at the top hat. if yours are the 2.5 performance series- that plastic ring at the top rubs the coil. hit it with some spray silicone. i did that to my 2.0 on my 2020 and that took care of it.

yeah if both are doing it that makes sense. fox actually told me about the spray. said it’s common until they wear in. they were right!

Ok, here's an update on this:
I silicone sprayed the top hats (tried to get it where the plastic ring contacts the coil) and it helped a little, but then the squeaking came back. I checked the torque on the top hat bots and that checked out. I haven't un-weighted the front end to check the torque on the lower bolts, *but* I sprayed the strut shafts and rocked the truck back and forth a few times, sprayed them again and it's now dead silent.
Maybe the seals at the top of the strut cartridge were super dry? I'll keep listening, but hopefully disaster averted.
