Is it possible to get fresh air through the dash vents? On my new Lariat it seems I always get AC or Heat when the fan is running. Turning the AC off seems to close the shut off the fan and I would like to have the fan circulate outside air through the cabin. Am I missing something or do you always have to have either AC or heat when the fan runs through the dash vents? Thoughts?

So they way I do it is set the temp to “LO”
Pick your own Fan speed to kill “auto” and deselect AC, and then pick where you want the air. That seems be be no heat in the mix.

Great town. Pretty setting along the river.

Perhaps I have some settings wrong or just don't understand, but when I deselect the AC it turns the fan off. I have read the owners manual and can't find any description of how to blow fresh air throughout the cabin.

Thank You! That worked. I had been pushing the "off" button on the left knob so that the yellow lights were off on both sides. With the left button on and the right button AC off it worked. Some of us "Grandpa types" need an image to follow. Thanks again.

These are my setting with the automatic climate control that blows outside air in. I circled the important stuff. I hope this helps.
I have these same exact settings set, and sometimes it seems the air coming through the vents is not cool on a cool day. Seems almost like I have a little bit of heat on.

It say's LO but that temp is still about 15C(59F) so that's a little bit of heat you are feeling.

This is pretty typical of every car for the 30+ years. First, coolant is flowing through the heater core so you'll get some residual heat from that. Two, the intake for outside air comes from the cowl vents at the base of the windshield. Heat escaping the engine bay will be drawn into those vents. In short, it's normal.
