Every car/truck I've ever bought I switched to full synthetic oil.
I have had great luck with Ford cars and trucks and believe it is due to taking the best care of them.
So, yes, I use for Full synthetic on my Ranger too.

Just like those that insist on using premium fuel. If you can afford premium fuel and synthetic oil then thats good..... but it's not required.
I use 87 octane and motorcraft blend oil and My Ranger does just fine.

I use full synthetic too, I think it’s best especially since I go by the trucks computer 7500 mile oil change intervals.

I feel it's worth the extra money since I do changes by myself. It is supposed to be the best protection - so I'm sticking with it.

My Ranger computer goes off at 10,000 miles to get an oil change? I wonder why?

That's odd since a synth blend is rated for less miles.

Could be difference in the 3.0L and the 2.3L .
Different intervals?

Here's an insightful write up. What I get out of it? I would probably go full synthetic if doing longer intervals.
https://motoroilguide.com/oil-types-viscosity/synthetic-blend-vs-full-synthetic/

The Cost Math: Full Synthetic vs. Synthetic Blend Per Mile
Oil TypeCost per 5qt jugIntervalCost/1,000 miles
Synthetic Blend~$20–246,000 miles~$3.50–4.00
Full Synthetic~$27–328,500 miles~$3.20–3.75

Back in the day, it was recommended to NOT to use full synthetic in a new engine until it had a chance to "break-in". Research says engines today are produced to tighter tolerances and full synthetic can be used. I intend to use synthetic blend at 5k intervals until 20k. Then I will switch to full-synthetic

Just ordered one of these to make oil changes a bit less messy.

I enjoy doing as much maintenance as possible on my vehicles.

What I get out of it? Fuzzy math to prove a point. The assumed increased OCI if one uses full synth.
I wouldn't change my oil change intervals just because I used full synth.
If you do 5K OCI, then it's $4-$4.80 for blend and $5.40-$6.40 for full synth.

I just bought a late 2025 Ranger XLT 4x4 sport, was sitting on the lot for 90 days. Bought mid March this year and at 750 miles did a break in oil change and it look pretty dark. Send some samples to blackstone lab. Gonna do another oil change ones I hit 1.5K miles and see.
