I went out to lock my truck without the fob. I opened the passenger door and hit the "lock" button. Then I remembered something I needed from the back seat. I hit the "unlock" button and heard the back door unlock. Leaving the front door open, I opened the back door. The horn starts sounding, and I get a security alert on my phone. I used my phone app to "unlock" and the horn stopped. Glitch or feature?

Sounds like a glitch because I just did the steps you outlined on my lariat and the alarm didn’t sound. The closest scenario the manual says would trigger the alarm is opening a door when the vehicle was locked with the fob or keypad (pp74-84)

its a feature of some sort. i don't recall, but there is a passive alarm system. i've been at the dealership and opened doors and had alarms go off. not a big deal if the fob is nearby, but embarrassing when the sales associates are running around looking for the fob on someone's desk.

I agree, I think is a ā€œfeatureā€ of sorts. I have done it as well, but I think it’s to prevent folks from taking your truck if you leave the windows open or something like that.
