Anybody have a problem with their front hood not closing completely? Mine catches the first latch but not the second. Any quick suggestions on how to remediate?

I’m not sure - the latch may need to be adjusted. I will say that I had a difficult time closing mine (only been open once). I had to slam it a little harder than expected, but it did latch. I haven’t had it open since.

I tried slamming pretty hard, to the point I was comfortable with, but still no secondary latch. Same problem with the doors. Pretty brutal quality control at Ford.

Same. I only had mine open once but it was hard to get closed again. Had to drop it from a uncomfortable height. I do notice that the panel gap along the passenger side is much wider than on the driver side.

Every car I've had in the past 5 year or so has been this way. Not sure why the change, but it's been noticeable.

Typically, if you open the hood 2ish feet and drop it, it should close.

Hi there! I can look into your Ranger's concern on my end. To get started, could you please send a private message over with the name/location of your local Ford dealer and your Ranger's VIN?

I test drove a 2024 Ranger last week - I couldn't close the hood after popping it and neither could any of the dealership staff. Seems like a quality control issue.

I had trouble with the hood the first time too. Turns out the hood prop rod wasn't stowed away properly. Haven't had trouble since.

This wasn't the first post I had planned...

But I am glad to hear I am not the only one. I got home from the dealership, and I was checking things out and decided to open the hood and take a look. Went to close it and I dropped it from a foot or so and it didn't close. Dropped from a bit higher and still no go. Decided to try and push down on it with my forearms and now I have a nice little quarter-sized dimple on the hood my brand new Raptor. :/

Well I just sorted mine out and indeed it involves dropping from an obscene, and should be unnecessary height. Just cross your fingers and hope it doesn't blow all of the windows out in the process.:whew: As for the doors, same thing...just go out it the way Matt Rempe goes in for a bodycheck, but don't miss.

I adjusted my latch and my hood closes easy now.
I already had the plastic cover off the radiator support because I was installing the Raptor style grill lights so the latch was right there in the open. I moved the latch up about 3/16" and all is good now.

I too tried everything and finally the dealer created a service ticket. They took part of front grill off to raise the whole closing latch. Works fine now. Clearly a quality control issue.

I wonder if this has to do with the original hoods having issue's and them having to change the manufacturing process on them.
Perhaps yours had the original hood and the replacements are just different enough to require some further adjustments on the latch side.
Looks like it's petty common looking at the responses.
I can see this being rushed as they replaced 1000's of hoods.
