Wow interesting. You do realize the Raptor trim has completely different seats... so to say "all '24 Ranger seats are like this" is not accurate. I have a sensitive back from a car accident decades ago, and I did a 13 hour drive in my Raptor only stopping for restroom breaks and fuel, and had no pain whatsoever.
They are the same build - Different fabric (and I am pretty sure the Bronco has the same problem.) I have seen the complaints of the beautiful vinyl seats in the new Rapture looking terrible over a short amount of time. Loose and wrinkled. That is from the vinyl on the cushion being excessively stretched (point load) . My conversation with Ford Customer Service with the rep I spoke to, admitted she has had complaints about the seats as well. Nobody has narrowed down the problem though. Again - It is an easy fix. but it NEEDS to be addressed. an upholstery spring or simply a flat bar SUPPORTING the foam in the middle of the seat is all you need to do.

Sounds like my back. Other than fiddling with the lumbar support from time to time, and occasionally moving the seat back a couple inches to stretch the legs, the seat never moves from memory 1. It's truly a great seat in the RR.

Comfortable enough for me to drive all day.

I was annoyed by the hands-on wheel reminder until I learned about resting a bit of your arm weight on one side of the wheel. The amount of weight is just enough for the wheel to think you are actively using it but still let it go where it wants. Anyone who drives with their knees, the same light pressure on the bottom of the wheel can work quite nicely too.
Agree. I saw the work around is to put a weighted object on the right side of the steering wheel. Slight pressure is all it need to satisfy it. I saw it on a youtube video on a F150 works perfect, he was able to eat a sandwich.

They are leather... and yes they show some wrinkling early on many examples out there (mine aren't bad). That does not make the seats identical outside of upholstery between trims. The bolstering, headrests and such are bespoke for the Raptor seats.

The front seat cushion foam and its lack of center support underneath is the only thing I am talking about. The rest of the seat is fine.

Everyone has different needs. Just surprised to hear your 115lb wife refuses to sit in yours and I can marathon a full day in mine at 6' 215lbs :D I attributed it to the different bolstering myself as I have never driven the non Raptor trim 6G rangers.

I also have a jacked up back, and had no problem with multiple back to back 8 hour road trips recently and I have issues standing for long periods of time and sitting on chairs without back support.

Everyone is different, but I would argue some folks dont understand how to sit ergonomically at a desk or in the car. They just sit with what feels good.

Yep - I am 6' and 215 also but I can't run a marathon but work outdoors more than most. the problem isn't the back of the seat, its the cushion. My wife will not ride any distance because she does not want her back to hurt - its as simple as that I don't either Everybody riding in this experiences the same thing. At 1st, really did not know why my butt hurt and back after riding in it for a length of time, until I examined under the seat. You are not going to pay much attention to it up to 1/2 hour of riding, I have had F150s forever and never had a problem like this. I still have a 2003 f150 with well over 200k and that seat is no problem at all, along with a verity of other SUV's we have. I have never had this problem with any vehicle I have ever had in my life. I have never been in a Rapture but I saw the seat complaints about the vinyl "looking like a bag sitting on the seat" after some time and I remember them commenting the ones built over seas do not have that problem, it was obvious to me what the problem is. I just hope addresses this SOON. You are either a part of the solution or --- I did take It into my dealer after I had about 900 mile on it and they took the cushion of the drivers seat and the FOAM CUSHION had a long (bout 8") SPLIT in it, about half way up on the side. They replaced that cushion and did nothing to the passenger side, made no difference, but guess why it split. EXCESSIVE MOVEMENT no doubt, Why? NO SUPPORT under the middle of the cushion. It free falls. Its not brain surgery. ADD A SUPPORT in the middle, underneath foam cushion, the to prevent the free fall.

My wife drives around in a 2006 Pontic Vib and LOVES it, she is not a fussy person or a whiner, We have a new Equinox and have no problems driving any distant with anything else. We had to go half way across Wisconsin Saturday for her huge family Xmas. It would have been great to take My Ranger I have had for over 4 months but no way either of us wants a sore Back & Butt. Again I love everything about this high tech truck EXEPT the seat problems.

Weighing on on the seat issue. I'm shopping for a Raptor but finding one nearby to test drive isn't happening. I just test drove a 6G Ranger XLT for the first time on Saturday and LOVED it. Except for the seats. Despite what my friends say, I don't have a fat a$$, but those seat bolsters were killing me after a ten minute drive. I've been studying pictures of XLT seats Vs Raptor seats for two days now. Anyone out there with real experience in a Raptor and a non-Raptor that can give a definitive answer on the bottom seat cushion comfort?

I am quite sure the problem is the same on the Rapure as the XLT after looking at the Rapure tread on the seats. There simply needs to be positive support of the foam cushion under the seat in the middle of the seats (Drivers and Passanger) Some comments are:

24 Rapture - Similar issues. Pic taken at 60 miles (a week old Ranger Raptor) Seat stiching is wobbly. It looks like the inserst are stiched by a 5 y/o. It is not even round. See pics

24 Rapture -- Photos before purchase won’t matter. My seats looked good before I bought it. After a week of owning it the seats look terrible now.

24 Rapture - 100 miles on mine, got it yesterday, and noticed the same thing - loose fitting seat covers, wrinkly...almost as if they don't have enough "cushion" to properly fill out the cover / sleeve. Hopefully an issue Ford will warranty, but I fear replacements at this point will look the exact same. If we all complain, hopefully over time we have proper fix and I'll do the swap then.

24 Papture - Does anyone notice an extreme looseness in the leather of the Driver's seat? It looks/feels like a wrinkly bag.
It looks/feels like the leather panel isn't the correct size or wasn't pulled taught during assembly. Is this something Ford is likely to repair/address?

My seats look like new after 7k miles both in the material and the cushion, and I have had the truck for almost two years now using it every day but the distance to work is not so long. I weight 150lbs aprox.

The ride quality for me is great, suspension can handle any turn, but be aware of the tires, as the grip is not so good at high speeds. I run my tires at 30-31 PSI to improve grip, they are so tall no issues at all and absorb any road imperfections beautifully. The truck is very silent as well, good noise insulation, except when it rains heavily, then the roof is kind of noisy.

I would say the biggest issue for doing a road trip on this one would be the range. At full mine shows around 300miles only, and Im sure if you go it will probably be even less as I drive at 85mph or so. A recommendation would be to use a bed cover if possible, this increeased the MPH on mine noticeably. Best mileage as I have seen is at 60-70mph, it goes up to 22mpg or so, but if you step on the pedal a little bit then the mpg go very low, thats why overall its hard to get a decent mpg on these trucks in my opinion. I did not buy mine to get good mpg but to have fun with it.

If you want range you need to get an aftermarket tank and this will give you probably 400 miles range or so. I have seen them in australia only, but shipping was quite expensive because its bulky and aluminum made, and since I dont use mine for travel I did not go for this option. But for people that uses the truck for long distances I believe that upgrade is a must.

I am wondering what everyones experience is with the RR on roadtrips 5+ hours on the highway.

Fuel Economy/Range?
- Best Speed to get the best economy?

Comfort for driver and 1 passenger?

Tips?

Thanks as always
Just got back from a 2500 mile roundtrip from California to Idaho.
Setup was Sport suspension and steering and baja exhaust (I had heard that baja gives better flow and mileage so that's why), driver assist as well as adaptive cruise control were both turned off.
I had MPG vary from 17 to 22 depending on which direction I was going, one way was basically going to a higher elevation and coming back was coming down which gave better mileage.
Kept the speed to 5 over the posted limit with obvious passes here and there. I think the best mileage was with cruise set to 70MPH.
Comfort was great for about 6 to 8 hours but with each leg of 12 hours the wife and I were glad to get the hell out of it for a while.
I have no problem with taking it on another long trip but I think I'll try to make each leg at 8 hours max.

I just turned the lane centering off. No matter what I did I could not get the alerts to stop and it was super annoying. That feature is not something I really need to have on all the time, anyway. The lane departure is enough for me.
I couldn't agree more, I couldn't deal with lane centering at all, more annoying than its worth. Lane keep and adaptive cruise on the other hand are a huge stress reliever on a long road trip, works great. I think having to steer the truck helps keep you alert and if you start wandering out of the lane it pushes you back in.
