I typically do not turn on the AC if I dont have to. In the summer my settings are the coldest ambient air possible without turning on the AC until I cant stand it anymore before turning on the AC.
My Ranger does not operate like this, it WILL turn on the AC in this setting without selecting it via the controls. It will be 80 degrees outside and the air coming through the vents is obviously much colder, in the 60s or so. It will oscillate between AC air and ambient air over the course of maybe every 5 minutes or so.
To me this seems like faulty thermostat issue because it will do this regardless if i set the temperature to 60 degrees all the way up to 75 degrees. But repairing this is outside of my area of expertise. What is the issue I need to address, either repair it myself or take it to a dealer?
