I've owned my 2025 XLT for 2 weeks and I already hate the 12" vertical screen and lack of knobs

Mine looks like this, the only way to kill the compressor and leave the fan on is in the touch screen. I have the high trim package with dual CC.

What do you think about the volume knob that just shuts off the entire infotainment? It drives me absolutely crazy on my JL that there’s no button or knob to pause/stop media, you can only do it through the screen.
That’s a fair critique. Glad there’s someone else here who is crazy enough to own both a Ranger and a JL

I tried that and I thought it just shut off the passenger side HVAC but I'll have to double check that now.

I just went out to the garage and tried it, it appears that it does indeed kill the compressor, I don't know how long it would have taken me to figure that one out so thanks! I also discovered that if the air flow is selected for the floor and you hit the MAX AC button it will switch the airflow to the dash. When you shut off the MAX button the airflow stays at the dash vents. Both of these discoveries are going to make my life easier.

No it does not, that would be the power button in the temperature control knob. and the single zone xlt the ac button is not in the fan speed dial, like I said. its a button next to the volume knob

So my right button is not a fan speed knob but a temp select knob but the button does indeed shut off the compressor. I was under the impression it just shut off the passenger side AC but after testing just now it does kill the compressor. I feel pretty dumb now.
So on the single zone HVAC that right hand knob is a fan speed control? My fan speed is 2 push buttons or touchscreen.

I might join you if they ever put that big 392 v8 in one.

Huh, they’ve been making “final editions” with the 392 since 2021!
Oh my bad, he said JL. I have had JTs on my mind lately waiting for the Glatiator 392 to get officially released assuming that ever happens. Been bouncing back and forth from here and the Glatiator forum this evening.

The one button I want is for Screen Off. I live in a rural, very dark part of the world and these bright center screens suck on a dark night. They don’t dim enough, either. Jeep provides a hard Screen Off button the JL and it is wonderful.

I bet you can find a screen protector that has some tint

I am guessing it is known that there are physical controls below the screen.
For Radio, for climate. As well as buttons on the steering wheel for Radio as well.

A few things I wish had physical controls like the heated steering wheel and heated seats.
I have gotten use to where they are on the screen, so it's not really a big deal.

It's not perfect by any means, but I am not really hating it at all.

I have no complaints, use the wheel buttons mostly and talk to it.

I don't mind the screen, but I find the lack of a radio tuning knob annoying. The steering wheel buttons don't do what a normal tuning knob does, which is move to the next radio channel up or down. I like a tuning knob that works like a tuning knob.

Yes on single zone climate controls, the fan speed is the right dial, temperature is the left. the system power button is the button in the left dial, and the ac is the right on both single zone and dual zone. the universal symbol for power for decades the circle with line. Ill update comment with pic when I get to my truck when Im going to work shortly.

fan speed dial no button. volume button is power/play/pause for radio/media, temperature adjustment left knob, hvac power button.
