For me its more about charging. The wireless charger in the Ranger is better than previous car wireless chargers I've used, but it still tends to overheat the phone which is going to degrade the battery over time.

Plus this truck is lacking storage space, so its nice to free up the charger area for other junk.

Wireless overheating was my experience as well. I posted my solution before. I plugged in a small 4 port hub to the USB hub and ran a lightning cable off that. Since then I upgraded to the iPhone 15 pro so now I use the USB-C port ?

I have both mounts from the manufacturer of proclip for the RR for almost 6 months.

Drover side: It was is fine for regular driving use, but will fall off during offroad use.
Passenger drawer: holds great and no issues so far

Also, driver side one deformed a bit (probably due to our extremely hot sun) and no longer holds as good as when new. currently looking for a more durable replacement.

I got the proclip MagSafe charger but I wouldn’t recommend it. It installs very securely but since the actual charger projects a bit, the phone is totally in the way of the wiper control. The charger itself is pretty well designed but the position is no good.

Mount higher on the clip. Or better yet, get a Magnetic mount which is easier to use and takes up less space.

It’s on the very top of the clip and it is the MagSafe magnetic mount. Pretty much the same as yours but mine charges and is mounted higher. It’s on a non Raptor so maybe there’s some difference?

it was really hard to remove without scratching the plastic dashboard trim too. I think CarPlay and the touch charger give me what in need for now.

I installed a RAM Mount this week - RAM Flex Adhesive Double Ball Mount for Apple 25W MagSafe with an Apple 25W MagSafe charger connected to the USB C port.

The built in wireless charger was pathetic and now I can have a good spot for my phone to sit and charge without overheating. I don't need my phone in my eyeline with Carplay and this ended up being great for keeping cords tidy.

don’t you have to use screws to attach the actual magnetic phone holder?

2 minute install. You slip the top of the clip under the gauge cluster trim, then carefully bend the clip and tuck the bottom on the bottom of the gauge cluster trim. A plastic pry tool is helpful for getting the top started.

Proclip has a link to the install instructions on the product page with pictures.

there’s two pieces. A plastic clip that attaches to your dash completely via clips/friction. Then you screw the ball head for the MagSafe into that. No screwing into the truck.

Anybody have a good solution for a MagSafe phone holder that fits with the new generation? The unique shape of the vents makes generic vent clip versions unusable. Thinking maybe a suction to the window might work better?
I was initially hoping there may be a company that comes out with a top of dash rack similar to the F150 and 150 Raptors to hold it but haven’t had any luck finding.
This is the setup that I use

Have you looked at the Tackform. I put theirs in my truck and love it. Mounts into dash and can be removed with no damage to the dash. These guys have it figured out. BTW, I don’t work for them or get paid. They give all the tool needed to do a simple install. Check them out Tackform
