Major Ford Screw Up on Seats

Was perusing cars.com just to see pics of trucks that have come in and came across this Ranger STX that has black front seats and tan back seats

It also has the 12” screen which I think is not available for any XL model. Something is very fishy here.

That's the 10" screen, but the seats are fun. They didn't luck out with a Raptor rear seat like that XLT in another post.

Wild pay them more and they still do these screw ups goes to show you money can not always fix the problem. Shame on the UAW guys you give them a raise and look what they put out. It a shame these guys do not step up and atleast try to do better work. Its is bad that the Chinese made Lincoln is the best built Ford product I have been in. The chinese are putting more pride in their work than the UAW. I tried out 9 different Nautilus all of them were put together better than any UAW made Ford product I have been in. If the UAW does not step up and put some pride in their work I can see them losing their jobs. When a chinese made Ford product has the highest quality built product than what the USA puts out, it just a shame. UAW wake up Ford is paying you a great wage so show up to work and do it wright. I prefer to buy my vehicles made in the states but when the UAW is just putting stuff out like this it makes you second guess that thinking. I'am sure Ford is thinking the same thing get your act together before its too late and they move all the work overseas. Where is that union pride that should have never made it out of the plant. If i was Ford I would fire all the guys who let that Ranger out of the plant. They need to go find another job and let someone who would appreicate a nice paying job have it.

I think it’s just generic American quality, our Mercedes suvs which are built In alabama come in with mis matched wood trim or wrong color center console way more often then you would think should happen, and they aren’t unionized yet. I see way less issues from our models that are built I Germany. It think there’s just a lack of pride in worksmanship in in America in general regardless if union or not. People just aren’t passionate about what they do.

I had to chuckle when I read this. I bought a new Ranger in 2008. I had it about two weeks or so and was giving it a bath. I noticed the driver door handle was color matched (blue) and the passenger side was matte black! I had to do a double take. I actually laughed my ass off, as did my dealer when I took it in and showed them. They quickly fixed it, but just goes to show you that you had better inspect it closely!

Unions don't hire employees. The company does. And from my perspective, the large American companies prioritize checking a box over anything else.

Thanks for posting. I am legitimately concerned about my January build that has been on hold indefinitely. Did these people not JUST get a raise?

Just another Union hater

I don't hate Unions I hate lazy people this should have never happen QC should have caught this before it left the plant. I like Unions and the pay that comes with a union job but it is wrong that the some Unions protect people that do horrible work and do nothing about it. I try and buy American made stuff when possible even pay a little more for made in America. My work boots are union made, I love them and the quality is always good from that company. Unions can do great work look at BMW. If your getting 40+ dollars an hour you need to put some pride in your work.

If all UAW employees got fired tomorrow I wouldn’t shed a tear.
Hire people that take pride in their work, not people that demand more and more money with the premise that “they deserve it”.
Reward good QC with performance bonuses. Punish sloppy behavior with pay cuts.
If you don’t like it, find somewhere else to work! Millions of other business run this way with much success!

I get that Farley (claims he is) is trying to does this at the management level, but the trend is still continuing…
