I asked ChaptGPT about the Method 703s I'm considering. Says I won't need hub rings.
If you're buying the Method 703 wheels specifically for the 2024–2026 Ford Ranger Raptor (17x8.5, +35 offset, 6x139.7 bolt pattern), you should not need hub-centric rings.

Here's why:

  • Your 2026 Ranger Raptor has a 93.1 mm hub bore.
  • The Ranger-specific Method 703 uses a 93.25 mm center bore, which is intentionally just slightly larger than the Ford hub (only 0.15 mm of clearance). Owners have confirmed these wheels are essentially hub-centric for the Ranger Raptor.
  • Because of that very close fit, Method does not specify or include hub-centric rings for this application.

Yes with the tolerance that close you don't need hub rings. Plus with it being so close hub rings can't be made, not enough material. As long as your tires are balanced correctly being off a little bit will have no effect. I have yet to install my hub rings and there's no vibration. But still will add when I pull the wheels back off.

Same situation here. I have Methods 305 on my 2025 XLT, with Open country AT3 285/70/17. I had this setup on my previous 2022 Tremor, never had a single issue. I transfered them on the newer 2025 and since then I have a lot of vibration issues. Got them balanced 4 times, aligned 2 times, still got some vibrations and the steering wheel not centered to go straight. Each balancing never resolved the problem, it just made the vibration different, occuring at different speed, even though their machine said it was balanced. Even weirder is, after the first balance and alignment, steering was straight. It came back out of alignement after 2 weeks. I made them redo the alignment. Was still out of alignement even if the parameters were all correct. After the 4th balancing (without alignement) the steering came back straight, for only 2 or 3 weeks and is now out of alignment again. All 4 balancing were done at 4 different shops.

I always had 106.1mm hub rings on it since I bought the wheels and tires combo. I tried to put 108mm hub rings thinking it was the problem but doesn't fit because of the center caps. I have no idea what's going on. Tires problem or bad wheel centering, no mechanic seems to know.

So I think ChatGPT made a mistake, as those Method 703s actually have a 106.25 center bore, in which case I would definitely use hub rings (although Method will insist it’s not necessary).

IIRC, I believe the 703s do NOT use a push thru center cap, so hub rings should fit fine.

Good catch!
Just wanted to follow up on this to clarify something: I think what you found on ChatGPT were the Ford Performance version of the Method 703s, which do indeed have a 93.25 wheel bore (direct fitment for Bronco) and would not require hub rings for the RR (Ranger hub bore is 93.1, close enough). If you buy them directly from Method, then the wheels will have the larger bore and would benefit from hub rings.

Not sure if there’s a weight difference between the Method vs Ford Performance versions of the 703? Either way, sorry if I caused any confusion!
